Note the Games Delivery Officer will be expected to
attend the
ParalympicsGB Team Development
Programme before this role starts on 21-22 October
2015.
SALARY:
Band B (circa £25k)
HOURS OF WORK:
Such hours as are necessary to fulfil the duties. This
will involve a minimum of 35 hours per week, and
include work in evenings and weekends as required.

Games time (August/September 2016):
Paralympic Village, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
JOB PURPOSE
The Games Delivery Officer is responsible for providing world class games
delivery support to ParalympicsGB in the lead up to and during the Games. The
role will also support other events, celebrations and activities undertaken by
BPA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Games Delivery Officer will support the underpinning operational elements
required to deliver the best prepared ParalympicsGB team to the Rio 2016
Games. A large international movement of circa 300 athletes and a wider
delegation in excess of 600 requires significant coordination.

This role will provide full Games Delivery related administrative support to
ensure the effective planning and organising of the ParalympicsGB team’s
involvement in the Rio 2016 Games. The Games Delivery Officer will support
across all applicable areas including logistics, rate card, procurement, travel,
transport and accommodation.
This role will also have a distinct responsibility for working with BPA’s partners
adidas and ASOS in the delivery of the ParalympicsGB kit and equipment which
will entail the following:










Manage the day to day interaction with adidas and ASOS regarding the
ParalympicsGB order placement, production tracking, order delivery and
issue resolution;
Support the 22 Summer Sport Team Leaders in any amendments to orders;
Monitor the kit budget;
Support in the definition of kit sizing sessions;
Support in the set up and delivery of each kit sizing session;
Work with the Games Delivery Manager to design and deliver a kit
warehousing solution, including a process for managing stock inventory;
Coordinate distribution of kit to all ParalympicsGB Team Members;
Liaise with the Logistics partner regarding kit distribution;
Support Team Launch event delivery including kitting out elements;
Analyse and prioritise kit elements to be shipped out to Brazil.
Other pre-Games responsibilities will include:





Support the team to procure and then ensure the delivery of equipment, rate
card and home from home items required inside and outside the Village.
Assist the budget recharge process.
Identify and source ParalympicsGB gifts for Games-time.
Assist in the production and distribution of final information and welcome
packs.
Provide ongoing administrative support to other areas of the Operational
Delivery team e.g. domestic event delivery etc.
Games Time responsibilities:




Establish and manage the in-village kit distribution system.
Coordinate any supplementary kit requests from other locations e.g.
ParalympicsGB Preparation Camp (Belo Horizonte) and the ParalympicsGB
Hub in Rio.
Manage the distribution of ParalympicsGB gifts.
In conjunction with the Village Manager and other HQ staff provide support
across all applicable areas including but not limited to:
o HQ set-up and break-down
o Accommodation Management
o Front of House Support
o Logistics support

PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable

Educated to degree level or similar relevant technical qualification.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Essential

Project Management – strong organisational skills with the ability to develop and
manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Data management – confident working with large amounts of data (collection,
collation, analysis and reporting). Efficient data analysis skills with a proven
competency in translating into presentable formats as required by the organisation.

IT - Ability to work to an advanced level in a variety of Microsoft applications
specifically Word, ExCel and PowerPoint. Experience in planning and setting up
complex spreadsheets to manage large amounts of data.

Budget Management – experience of managing and tracking budgets.

Risk and Issue Management – proven experience in risk and issue management
across a diverse environment

Communication - well developed communication skills (written and verbal).
Desirable

Experience in coordinating events / operations.

Experience of working in a sporting environment.

General knowledge of disability sport.

Experience of working with databases.

A passion for sport.
