The ruling of the tournament committee will be final in all matters and without recourse. Non-compliance with tournament rules will result in disqualification. The IGFA rules for fishing in salt water will apply. All anglers must have a valid fishing licence. All boats must have a valid and correct Certificate of Fitness / Compliance. All Skippers must have a valid Skipper’s Certificate. Only fully paid up participating anglers allowed on boats, strictly no guests. There will be no refunds of tournament entries under any circumstances. Acceptance of the Organiser’s indemnity by signing of such is compulsory. Entries will be accepted at the sole discretion of the tournament committee and no correspondence will be entered into. All fish weighed will be given to the Tournament Sponsor in aid of charity as per conditions of sponsorship. Daily fishing times will be as per the programme or as amended by the organisers at their discretion. 0 The maximum fishing limit is 40 Nautical Miles from shore (i.e. 34 42’00” South). Any boat past this point eg. 0 34 42’05” South will be disqualified for the day. A second transgression will result in a total disqualification of the boat and all anglers on that boat. The skippers will be required to enable the “track” mode on their plotters and GPS’s for random scrutiny by the appointed tournament auditors along with the competitions officer. Fishing Tackle: Open line class, maximum 60kg/130lb using rod and reel only - no hand lines, electric reels or illegal tackle is allowed on boats. Each angler will be limited to fishing with 2 rods only. Any additional or spare rods may not be rigged with traces. Qualifying fish: all tuna species (For main R100K Tuna Prize), Marlin, Broadbill, Dorado and Bonito. nd st Minimum weight of tuna: 15kg for boat weight, 20kg for 2 prize and 25kg to qualify for 1 prize. (Please release fish less than 15kg). Minimum weights for other species: Marlin and Broadbill 80kg. Dorado and Bonito subject to sponsors. All boats must be fitted with a 29 Meg (PEDSAC Control channel 6/B) or VHF (PEDSAC Control channel 68) radio and must have GPS navigation. Radio boat Call-ups are at 10h00 and 13h30 on VHF channel 68 and 29 Mhz channel 6 (B). Please stand by with position and catch. Boats calling in false positions will be disqualified from the tournament for safety reasons. All boats must launch and return through PE Harbour. There will only be one weigh-in point. Anglers are allowed to weigh their catch for the day, limited to the target species exceeding 15KG for boat weight and 25KG for top angler prize. Total bag limit not to exceed 10 fish per person / day. Only the four heaviest fish per boat per day will count towards the top boat prize. All weighing will be independently verified by appointed auditors. The weather committee may cancel part or all fishing days. Blessing of the Fleet will happen at 6:30am at the Shark Rock Pier on the 01 May 2014. Compulsory for all participating boats to be present. Launching from the harbour on the remainder starts at 05h30 and will be controlled by PEDSAC Control. Early departure will result in disqualification for the day. All boats must be back in the harbour by 17h30. Boats returning after 17:30 must contact Radio Control in case of an emergency. The time for return on the last day is 16h30. Same rules apply to boats arriving late. Return is considered complete when a boat passes a line drawn between PE Port Control tower and the light on the PE breakwater. Delays caused by shipping will only be considered if the boat concerned is at the breakwater light 5mins before cut-off and PEDSAC radio control or patrol boat notified. Disputes or complaints can be handed in writing to either Richard Donaldson or Martin Gierz on the day of the dispute/complaint no later than 18h30 on the first two days and 17h30 on the last day. The dispute or complaint must be accompanied by a R200 payment. This payment will be returned to the angler concerned if his/her complaint/dispute is successful. Prize-winning fish of the same weight will be decided on a first fish weighed basis if caught on different days. The prize money will be split for winning fish of the same weight caught on the same day. Any Tuna that may claim the winning prize will be subjected to scrutinising by an appointed independent adjudicator to positively identify the species, to ensure that it hadn’t been caught prior to the commencement of the competition and will be dissected to confirm that no foreign object is has been inserted into the fish.
