Only club members having paid their membership fees and with membership records in the County YFC Office are eligible to compete. Failure to produce a membership card at any competition will result in a £5 fine for the individual concerned. The team must also prepare a ‘Red Book’ on the Pirate. The information for the book must be displayed in a A4 ring binder. No PowerPoint or video/DVD may be used. Time: The performance should be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes including the setting and clearing of the stage. Penalties: Up to 15 seconds overtime - 2 penalty marks; Up to 30 seconds overtime - 5 penalty marks; a further 5 penalty marks will be deducted for every 15 seconds thereafter. Equipment: Competitors to provide their own CD’s/Minidiscs/mp3 files (no tapes are allowed). Important Date: Friday 10th April – submission of the ‘Red Book’ and music files to County Office. Scoring: This is Your Life Programme The Red Book Overall effect Total 50 30 20 100 Marks ================ ======== 2 NFYFC Painted Canvas Competition (16 and Under) Theme: Farming Family (Eliminator for Spring Festival) VENUE – Narberth School REPRESENTATION - Counties may enter one exhibit for the Wales final. ELIGIBILITY – One member 16 years of age or under on 1 September 2014 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC/Wales YFC. Competitors will be required to show their membership cards. Failure to produce a card will result in a £5 penalty charge. Any member whose name is not listed as a current paid up member of the Federation and who cannot produce a membership card at the start of the competition will not be allowed to compete. PROCEDURE – A canvas to be painted on the theme of “Farming Family” Any painting medium or mixed media to be used Must be suitable for a family audience A boxed canvas to be used to a MAXIMUM size of 65cm by 65cm and picture included. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitors. Competitors must make themselves available throughout the judging to answer the Judges questions and explain the processes and story behind the production of the artwork. The winning exhibit will represent Pembrokeshire at the Wales YFC final at the Spring Festival on the Royal Welsh Showground on 16th & 17th May 2015. ================ ======== 3 NFYFC Recycled Garden Sculpture Competition Theme: Family Garden (Eliminator for Spring Festival) ELIGIBILITY – Competitors to be 26 years of age or under on 1 September 2014 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC/Wales YFC. Competitors will be required to show their membership cards. Failure to produce a card will result in a £5 penalty charge. Any member whose name is not listed as a current paid up member of the Federation and who cannot produce a membership card at the start of the competition will not be allowed to compete. PROCEDURE – The Competitor is required to construct a sculpture on the theme of a “family garden” and should be suitable for a family audience. Materials used should be predominantly recycled to minimise cost and environmental impact. Members may use any material they wish but all materials and containers must be thoroughly cleaned and free from contaminants. There is no minimum size for the sculpture but it must not exceed the maximum size of 1m x 1m x 1m and should be no heavier than 20kg and may be put in situ for judging by a maximum of 2 members under the age of 26. The Competitor should pay particular attention to the standard of finish of their exhibit. It should be suitable to be displayed outside (i.e. weatherproof). At the Final exhibits will be displayed on the floor. Prior to the competition, before commencement of any work on the sculpture, members should be aware of potential health and safety risks and use all appropriate Personal Safety Equipment when constructing the sculpture. The Safety of people viewing and touching the finished sculpture should also be considered, E.g.: Avoid sharp edges and ensure the finished exhibit is stable. All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitors. Setting up at 7.00pm – be ready to begin cooking at 7.30pm. Eligibility Teams to consist of three members, one must be 26 years of age or under, one must be 21 years of age or under and one must be 16 years of age or under, on 1 September 2014 Each team will be required to prepare and display four (4) dishes for a home cooked dinner for an Anniversary Celebration. Teams are required to label their exhibit with the anniversary title they are celebrating. The menu must include at least one sweet and one savoury dish. Each dish will be required to serve two people. Several culinary components may form one “dish”. For example a sweet/savoury plus sauce/vegetable/berries is one dish. A drink does not count as a dish and will not be scored. All ingredients are to be locally sourced. Equipment Two gas rings will be allowed per team and these must be provided by the competitors. No other heat is allowed. Electricity is not available. Competitors to provide all their own equipment. All ingredients may be brought to the competition already weighed out and vegetables ready washed. All other work must be executed on site in the practical session Displays Competitors will be allowed a maximum display space of 90cm (width) x 60cm (depth) in which to display the dishes to their best advantage. Please note that measurements will be taken from the outside of your boards. DISPLAYS WHICH EXCEED THE ABOVE DIMENSIONS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. There are no limitations on the contents of the display, although competitors must: a) Display a menu card b) Display details of recipes and costings. c).Recipes must be available throughout the practical session for judges inspection. d) Display a nutrient card. Judges will place emphasis on marking displays which compliment the dishes. Menu cards, nutrient cards and recipes and display accessories (non food items) etc may be brought to the competition ready prepared. Display tables may be set up outside the hour preparation. 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition will be allowed for this task. Competitors may also unpack their equipment and ingredients during this time. At the end of the preparation and cooking time the teams should have packed away their equipment and wiped down the worktable. Gas stoves should be left to cool down properly. Competing members only to prepare display space. ================ ======== 5 SCRAPBOOK Members who shall be 26 years of age or under on the 1st September 2014, to compile a club scrapbook to depict the club's previous year, to include press cuttings, photographs etc. NO PHOTOGRAPH ALBUMS ALLOWED. NO LATE ENTRIES CAN BE ACCEPTED. ======================= RALLY PROMOTIONAL SIGN 1. Eligibility A club team, no restriction on numbers, all of whom shall be 26 years of age or under on 1st September 2014 and to have paid their full membership fee. Competitors will be required to show their YFC membership cards. Failure to produce a card will result in a £5 penalty charge for the individual concerned plus verification on the YFC database prior to being allowed to compete. 2. Procedure The sign is to promote the Rally Day 2015 and is to be erected within the area of the club by no later than 10.00am on Saturday 2nd May. Clubs to advise the County Office of the location of their sign by 12 noon on Tuesday 29th April and provide a photograph. a) The sign must contain the words: PEMBROKESHIRE YFC RALLY, COUNTY SHOWGROUND, 23rd MAY 2015 b) The language of the sign to be Welsh, English or bilingual. c) The sign must be made of weather-proof material. d) The size of the sign must be no less than 1metre x 1metre and no more than 3metres x 3metres. e) The sign is to be erected in a prominent position (but should not be placed on a highway or a roadside verge). f) The sign does not have to relate to the Theme of the Rally PLEASE NOTE: Signs entered in previous years are not eligible for judging. 3. Marking system Signs will be judged out of a total of 100 marks. 4. The judge’s decision is final. ====================== 6 RWS -CABARET Narberth School 8th May 7.00pm (Eliminator for Royal Welsh Show) Team: Maximum of 8 members and a minimum of 4 members (26 years of age or under). Task: To entertain the audience in a Cabaret style by singing and performing songs of their own choice. Accompaniment: Members may provide their own instruments or an accompaniment (additional members allowed (26 and under) and one individual over 26 years of age for accompaniment). There is no restriction on the number of music pieces used. Wales YFC will NOT supply a piano. Time: To start and finish the performance with an empty stage – maximum time allowed is 10 minutes. Equipment: Members to supply the appropriate CD\mp3 files (no tapes are allowed) which should include accompaniment only (CD\mp3’s will be operated by the YFC PA technician). Important Date: Friday May 1st– Submission of music files and microphone requirements to Pembrokeshire YFC Office. Marking System: Performance and vocal Originality Overall Effect Total marks 70 10 20 100 Timing: Up to 15 seconds overtime - 2 penalty marks; Up to 30 seconds overtime 5 penalty marks; a further 5 penalty marks will be deducted for every 15 seconds thereafter. The top 3 competitors will perform again on rally day ====================== 7 RWS -Dancing Narberth School 15th May 7.00pm (Eliminator for Royal Welsh Show) Team: A team of between 4 and 8 members (26 years of age or under). The same four members must dance both dances, additional members (up to 4) are allowed to perform in either dance. Task: Perform two dances, one being a dance originating from an Island and one contrasting dance. Space: A 20’ x 20’ stage will be provided. Time: Maximum time allowed for each team is seven minutes. Minimum time allowed for each team is four minutes. Penalties: Penalty marks at a rate of 2 marks per 15 seconds or part thereof will be incurred if teams go over time. Equipment: The PA technician will be responsible for playing all CD’s/mp3’s (no tapes are allowed). Competitors to provide their own CD’s/mp3 but PA equipment will be provided. Important Date: 1st May– Submission of music file to Pembrokeshire YFC Office Accompaniment: Members may provide their own instruments or an accompaniment (additional members allowed (26 and under) and one individual over 26 years of age for accompaniment). Scoring: Dance 1 Dance 2 Total marks 50 50 100 The top 3 competitors will perform again on rally day ====================== 8 MALE AND FEMALE TUG 'O' WAR (Eliminator for Royal Welsh Show) County Showground - Monday 18th May 2015 at 7.00p.m. Please note age limit Eligibility Each team shall consist of 8 pulling members (one male and one female team). A maximum of two members of that team MAY be between the ages of 15 and 17 years on the 1st September 2014, and the remainder of the team MUST be over 17 years but 26 years of age or under on the 1st September 2014. The 8 Male members must comply with the rules and not exceed 680kg. The 8 Female members must comply with the rules and not exceed 580kg. Boots and Shoes Competitors' boots or shoes must not be 'faked' in any way i.e. the sole, heel and side of the heel shall be perfectly flush. No metal toecaps or metal toe-plates are permitted. Metal heel tips that are flush on the side and the bottom of the heel are permitted. Teams should ensure that all members wear the same colour shirts/jerseys. The 4 highest placed male and female teams to qualify for Rally Day. The judge(s) has/have the power and responsibility to disqualify a team or teams after a caution or disqualify without caution for any offence against the rules. The Female section will be run on a League basis if time allows otherwise it will be run on a knockout basis .= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = STOCKJUDGING – Charolais Venue and date tbc Eligibility A team of up to 4 members per Club (one of whom will be 26 or under, 21 or under, 18 or under and 16 or under on 1st September 2014). Each competitor will then be allowed two minutes to state his/her reasons. Competitors who exceed this time limit will incur penalties at a rate of two marks for each 15 seconds or part thereof. Cattle to be judged on breed points. . Competitors to give reasons to the judge to justify their placings. 15 minutes allowed for inspection and handling. Each competitor will then be allowed two minutes to state his/her reasons. Competitors who exceed this time limit will incur penalties at a rate of two marks for each 15 seconds or part thereof. The marks will be deducted from the competitor’s total. Notes: Ponies to be judged on Breed Points. The ponies supplied for the competition will be of a similar type. Timing: 15 minutes allowed for inspection and handling. Reasons: Each competitor will be allowed two minutes to state his/her reasons. Competitors who exceed this time limit will incur penalties at a rate of two marks for each 15 seconds or part thereof. Procedure The 16 or under and the 18 or under competitors will be required to place and give reasons on 1 ring of 4 animals. The 21 or under and the 26 or under competitors will be required to place 2 rings and give reasons on 1 ring of 4 animals.
