PROGRAM OVERVIEW & TARGET AUDIENCE
The purpose of this educational activity is to inform and educate the audience with
the most current clinical advances in ophthalmology and highlight on-going research
at the Scheie Eye Institute in the fields of anterior segment, retinal diseases, genetics,
oculoplastic surgery, neuro-ophthalmology and ocular pathology.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
■ Comprehend future trends in the diagnosis and management of optic
nerve tumors
■ Identify future directions in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma
■ Utilize current concepts and practices in the surgical management of complex
cataract cases
■ Develop insights into the diagnosis and management of age related and other
inherited forms of macular degeneration
■ Differentiate between the diverse mechanisms and management of ocular
surface abnormalities and dry eye disease
■ Identify and manage the complications of intraocular inflammation and uveitis

of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Accreditation
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to
provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Designation of Credit
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania designates
this live activity for a maximum of 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
Certificates and Transcripts
A few days prior to the symposium, pre-registered participants will receive an
email containing directions, additional symposium information and a link to the
symposium pre-test, a short questionnaire that will be used to gauge participant
knowledge. After the symposium has concluded, all participants will receive a
follow-up email containing a link to the post-test, symposium evaluation and
request for credit. Once participants submit the request for credit, the credit can
be viewed on a transcript or a certificate can be printed by logging onto
www.penncmeonline.com.

Registration Fee
There is no registration fee to attend this course; however pre-registration
is required. Registration includes attendance to the symposium, course booklet,
breakfast on both days, lunch on Friday, and breaks.

Cancellation Policy
The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to
unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the
University is not responsible for any related costs or expenses to participants,
including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, and travel agencies.

141st Anniversary Meeting will take place on Friday and Saturday,
April 24-25, 2015 at the Scheie Eye Institute, David M. Kozart Auditorium –
Lower Level, 51 North 39th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Directions, as
well as suggestions for parking on the University of Pennsylvania campus,
will be emailed to you a few days prior to the conference.
