The Derby City Tea Rose Foundation and Pi Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. have begun preparing for our 28th Annual Men Who Cook, taking place on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 7:00 pm. This year we are returning to the historic Kentucky Center for African American Heritage! Put down the tools of your trade and pick up your apron and chef hat, joining over 40 Kentuckiana men who will dish up their specialties for this great cause! We are currently recruiting cooks to prepare and serve dishes (tasting portions only) to our “audience” of judges. We have five categories of food competition: Appetizers, Entrées, Side Dishes, Desserts, Healthy Choice, and best decorated table/station. The crowd favorite of each will be declared the winner, receiving a prize and official bragging rights…at least until next year! In addition to participating in an evening of fun, you will also be assisting the Derby City Tea Rose Foundation, Inc. (the charitable arm of Pi Lambda Omega chapter) in raising funds to continue ongoing service projects and scholarship programs for the Louisville community. Derby City Men Who Cook is one of Louisville's most established and unique dining experiences, with guests having the opportunity to sample your dish, support our community, and network with each another while they enjoy entertainment.
