TOUR CONDITIONS AIR TRANSPORTATION: Economy class jet connecting IATA and ATC carriers. Airfare is based on SUPER APEX 6-21 days plus domestic add-on fares where applicable. Airfares are based on November 2014 rates and are subject to change without prior notice. BAGGAGE: Limited to one normal size suitcase, the weight of which should not exceed 50 pounds. Flight bags, cosmetic bags, briefcases, and camera cases remain in the personal care of tour members and are not included in the 50 pounds. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: Superior First Class Hotels, two persons sharing a twin bedroom with private bath. A limited number of single rooms are available at $775.00 supplemental cost. Confirmation required before departure. MEALS: 2 MEALS PER DAY : Breakfast and table d’hote for dinner daily. SIGHTSEEING: As detailed in the itinerary, using comfortable and convenient transportation. English speaking government licensed guide. All entrance fees are included when applicable to specified sites. TIPS: Tips associated with porterage at the hotels, meals, gratitudes, GUIDES and DRIVERS rendering services are included. TAXES: Service charges as imposed by lodging facilities, taxes by local administrations and government authorities on lodging are included on all services rendered to the group. Airport taxes, and fuel surcharge totaling $669.00 are included in the price of the tour and are subject to change without prior notice. You will be billed for any difference in this amount on your final invoice. THE TOUR PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: Expense of passports, laundry, wines, liquors, mineral water, lunches and after supper coffee or tea or items not found on the menu, excessive baggage expenses, and all items of a personal nature, plus those not listed as being included in the tour price. A deposit of $300.00 per person is required at the time of booking. Final payment must be made no later than 60 days prior to departure. Payments received after the dead line date will be subject to $50.00 administrative fee, CTO reserves the right to cancel any passenger NOT paid in full 60 days prior to departure. Reinstatement of a passenger is considered a last minute booking. Last minute booking, 60 days or less prior to departure will have to pay the applicable airfare at the time of booking and $150.00 to cover administrative cost. CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made up to 60 days prior to departure, refunds will be made less $100.00 per person administrative fee. Cancellations made 59-35 days prior to departure will be subject to $300.00 per person administrative fee. Cancellations received 35 days or less prior to departure have to pay a charge equivalent to 75% of the cost of the basic tour from the Gateway City. NO SHOW NO REFUND. Cancellation charges with medical reasons certified by a hospital and accepted by the airlines and suppliers will only be made based on refunds from suppliers and less $300.00 per person administrative fee. Pope Francis announced his pilgrimage to see the Shroud of Turin. At the same time, the Archdiocese of Turin announcee the display will coincide he 200th anniversary in 2015 of the birth of St. John Bosco, the founder of the Salesians. The theme for the 2015 display: “The greatest love.” The Holy Father stated that the Holy Shroud of Turin “will provide an appropriate moment to contemplate that mysterious face which silently speaks to the hearts of men, inviting them to recognize therein the face of God.” The Shroud is kept in Church of St. John the Baptist, the Cathedral of Turin. Unlike a tour, a pilgrimage is a personal spiritual experience. This pilgrimage will be instrumental in helping you grow closer to the Lord, Our Lady and the Saints. June 8: TURIN Upon arrival in Turin, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, we will view the Holy Shroud, followed with the Mass. Dinner and overnight in Turin. June 14: ASSISI/CASCIA/ROME After breakfast, we will drive to Cascia and visit Basilica of St. Rita. We will see the incorrupt body of St. Rita and the Eucharistic Miracle of Cascia. Mass will be in the Basilica of St. Rita. Then we will continue to Rome. Dinner and overnight in Assisi. June 9: TURIN This morning we begin with Mass and time to pray before the Holy Shroud. Pope John Paul II in viewing the Holy Shroud in May 2000. He said: “For the believer, what counts above all is that the Shroud is a mirror of the Gospel….The Shroud shows us Jesus at the moment of his greatest helplessness and reminds us that in the a basement of that death lies the salvation of the whole world. The Shroud thus becomes an invitation to face every experience, including that of suffering and extreme helplessness, with the attitude of those who believe that God's merciful love overcomes every poverty, every limitation, every temptation to despair. May the Spirit of God, who dwells in our hearts, instill in everyone the desire and generosity necessary for accepting the Shroud's message and for making it the decisive inspiration of our lives.” Another site to see today is the Shroud Museum. Dinner and overnight in Turin. June 10: TURIN/Castelnuovo Don Bosco/TURIN – Castel- nova (formerly called Castelnuovo D’Asti) is only 35 miles from Turin. It is the birthplace of St. Don Bosco, founder of the Salesians, This is the home town of beloved St. John Bosco. A year of celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Saint Don Bosco began in August 2014 and will continue to August 2015. This Bicentenary evokes the memory of so many men and women who have heroically given their lives for Christ and the Church, in some of the most difficult and extreme conditions in the world. This is a triumph, an inestimable treasure which only God can give proper value to. We will visit the Basilica of Don Bosco that was built near the quarters where he lived. Mass in the Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Turin. June 11:TURIN/ASSISI This morning depart from Turin to Assisi and enjoy the beautiful Italian country. Assisi is a small Umbrian town in central Italy, located 12 miles (19 km) east of Perugia at an elevation of 1,300 feet (400 meters). Assisi is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi — patron saint of Italy, founder of the Franciscan order, and one of the most popular Catholic saints in history. Assisi's main attraction is the 13th-century Basilica of St. Francisco containing the sacred relics of Francis and beautiful frescoes of his life. And the Basilica of St. Clare as well as other Churches offering history and sacred art. We will have Mass in Assisi. Dinner and overnight in Assisi. June 12: ASSISI After breakfast, we will visit the Basilica of St. Clare, the basilica was built between 1257 and 1265 and houses the incorrupt body of St. Clare. We will visit the San Damiano where St. Francis wrote his “Cantico di Frate Sole” (Canticle of Brother Sun) St. Francis gave this place to St. Clare. We will have Mass here. This afternoon, continue to The Hermitage (Eremo delle Carceri) the small hermitage where St. Francis spent a lot of time praying here. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis. Dinner and overnight in Assisi. June 13: ASSISI - After breakfast, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels built over the Portiuncula, also called the Pardon Chapel. It was here where St. Francis recognized his call to follow the Lord. Also in this Basilica we will see where St. Francis died, the June 15: ROME Early Morning Mass in the Basilica of St. Peter, after Mass, morning at your leisure. This afternoon, we will start our day visiting the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica built on the site where St. Peter was martyred. Construction of St. Peter’s began in 1506 and was completed in 1626. St. Peter is buried here along with many other popes. Unsurpassed in beauty, a monument to the long history of the Catholic Church, where pilgrims come from around the world, St. Peter’s is the grandest of the world’s churches. Dinner and overnight. June 16: ROME MAJOR BASILICAS OF ROME Basilica of St. Mary Major This Basilica is the most ancient Christian basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary, one of the most important shrines in the world dedicated to our Blessed Mother. Originally built in the 5th century, portions of the Basilica date back to the Council of Ephesus, which declared Mary as Mother of God. The Pauline Chapel has an icon painted by St. Luke the Evangelist; it is also believed to be a miraculous one. Mass will here at the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Basilica of St. John Lateran –This is the Cathedral of Rome, the “Pope’s church”. It is dedicated to both St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist. St. John Lateran is considered to be the “mother church” of all of the churches of the world. --Inside Saint John Lateran, you’ll find statues of the Twelve Apostles. The Scala Santa (Holy Staircase) – contains a flight of 28 marble steps (now covered with wood) which is believed to be a staircase from Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem and brought to Rome in the 4th century by St. Helen. -Located across the street from the Basilica of St. John Lateran. We will have a view of the steps, be led in a guided prayer by clergy, take a photo and return to the bus. Visit the Colisseum. After lunch, we will visit the Basilica of St. Peter in Chains, the chains used to shackle St. Peter while he was imprisoned in Rome are displayed in a golden reliquary inside Basilica of St. Peter in Chains. Dinner and overnight. June 17: ROME / PAPAL AUDIENCE After breakfast, you will witness the impressive entrance of His Holiness, Pope Francis. The audience is held in St. Peter’s Square surrounded by the imposing Bernini colonnade that seems to “embrace” you with its 284 columns. The Holy Father will address the audience in several languages and will conclude with his Apostolic blessing. After the Papal audience, you will have time for lunch. This afternoon visit The Basilica of St. Paul, Outside the Walls, where the Tomb of St. Paul is located. Mass will be in one of the Chapels of this Basilica dedicated to St. Paul. Dinner and overnight. June 18: ROME This morning visit the Catacombs where early Christians held their forbidden service to escape persecution. Mass in the Catacombs. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight. June 19: ROME/SAN ANTONIO Early morning transfer to the airport for your return flight back home.
