News from our Principal
Dear Pinewoods’ Families,

the district office early this month and our kids are ready to show what they know!! Go Math Wizards
and Book Bandits!! I appreciate the time these kids have spent ENTHUSIASTICALLY preparing for
these competitions, and greatly appreciate their sponsors, Mrs. Mackereth, Mrs. Wilkinson and Mrs.
Shine.
Read Across Pinewoods is going to be the week of May 18th, and it is going to be awesome! We will kick
off the week on 5/18 by dressing as our favorite Dr. Seuss characters and having green eggs and ham for
breakfast! There will be something special each day that week – keep your eyes open for a more detailed
information. Bingo for Books is Tuesday, May 19th. Thursday, May 21st is our annual Academic Fair from
6- 7 pm and orientation for our newest Kindergarten Eagles from 5:30 – 6. Our awesome PTO will also be
holding a SPRING FLING silent auction, the baskets and items for auction are amazing! We will close
out our week with our Author’s Parade on Friday , May 22nd at 8:45. The book fair will be open the entire
week, as well as the evening of the Academic Fair. Please feel free to call with any questions.
I am very proud to announce that one of our very own kindergarten students will be recognized at May’s
Lee County Sheriff Department’s “Do the Right Thing” ceremony. Congratulations to Alyse Dew, we are
so proud of you! Thank you for doing the right thing! I’m so proud of all of our students who choose to
do the right thing every single day.
Did you know that May 5th is National Teacher’s Day? We will be showing our appreciation for our
teachers and staff in a variety ways over the next few weeks.
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
