Potchefstroom – Four people were injured on
Monday 6 April after 23:00 in an accident on the
N12 approximately 15km from the city.
Santi Steinmann, spokesperson for Netcare
911, said when their paramedics arrived on the
scene, they discovered a light delivery vehicle
veered off the road and overturned. It had come
to rest of its side in the veld next to the road.
Upon assessment of the occupants, paramedics discovered that one person sustained serious injuries and three people sustained minor
to moderate injuries. The patients were taken
to hospitals.

with information that may lead to the re-arrest of
Dingaan Patrick Mandewo and Boitumelo Napolen “Dada” Moilwa.
Dingaan Patrick Mandewo was found guilty on six
counts of armed robberies. By then he was out on
bail, but failed to appear in court for sentencing.
Boitumelo Napoleon “Dada” Moilwa escaped from
lawful custody on 14 February 2014. He was facing two counts of murder, four of armed robbery

Four women raped
KOSH – Four women, including a 13-year-old girl,
were raped during separate incidents on Thursday, 2
and Friday, 3 April 2015.
Col Emelda Setlhako, police spokesperson, says a
23-year-old man appeared before the Orkney Magistrates’ Court this week after a girl (13) was raped in
her parents’ house in Alabama on Thursday, 2 April
2015. The suspect allegedly arrived at the house and
assaulted her. The police investigation continues.
A man (26) appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court this week after a woman (21) was raped
in her boyfriend’s house on the same day. Setlhako
says the woman was asleep when she heard the door
open. The suspect allegedly assaulted the woman before raping her.

man (25) was arrested for allegedly raping a woman
(29) in Orkney. He apparently asked her to go with
him to a shop. Along the way he asked her to have
sex with him. When she refused, he assaulted her,
undressed her forcefully and raped her. The suspect
appeared before the Orkney Magistrates’ Court this
week.
The second incident on Friday took place in Jouberton. A man (24) appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court this week for allegedly raping a woman
(28). She was apparently walking with him from a local
tavern when he pulled her to the ground and kicked
her before raping her.

accident while performing maintenance work at Unisel mine near
Welkom on Saturday, 4 April 2015.
Production at the mine has been
stopped and an investigation into
the accident is underway.
