Job Description Job Title Placement Coordinator Reporting to Site Manager Overall Purpose To support unemployed clients through barrier identification and resolution to enable the client to enter the employment market. To assess, coordinate and meet the needs of the client in respect to their work placement needs and aspirations. This will include liaison with employers, partners and community organisations to develop and secure sustainable opportunities for clients and to ensure high levels of customer service are maintained through follow up contact with all relevant parties Scope of role To seek to identify areas for continuous improvement through creativity and flexibility Key Tasks To manage a caseload on a one to one and group basis To utilise a variety of means to facilitate improved employability To identify and coordinate a range of recruitment and selection strategies to secure employment/placement opportunities for our clients To support unemployed clients in job search, job matching and sustainability of employment to include delivery of one to one and group training sessions To identify and develop occupationally specific placement opportunities with external organisations To be a source of expert advice regarding employer and vacancy expectations To promote PPDG and its portfolio of services to potential placement providers, referral agencies and other stakeholders To promote the benefits of work placements to the employer community, internal and external stakeholders through marketing activities To ensure regular liaison with team members to ascertain client needs and aspirations are met in regard to placement opportunities To plan and agree the implementation of training needs/activities with employers, where required To maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders To monitor and carry out regular reviews of placements to ensure they are meeting clients’ progress and adhere to Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities requirements and obligations To accurately maintain relevant IT systems and produce accurate and timely management information To adhere to quality processes and procedures To liaise closely with all relevant parties to ensure service levels are maintained To monitor own progress towards business and individual objectives Document Ref.: COL-273 Classification: Non-Corporate Sensitive Publish Date: 18-Mar-2015 Page 1 of 3 Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, each employee has a responsibility to Health and Safety and must also adhere to their responsibilities as laid out in the H&S Policy Any other related duties commensurate to the job role, as required by business objectives Person Specification An adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others Displaying strong motivational, customer service and organisational skill Competent in the use and purpose of technology with excellent IT skills In possession of demonstrable lateral thinking skills Enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others Able to work under pressure, on own initiative and constantly seek to improve In possession of or willing to work towards the IOSH qualification Satisfactory Employment/Disclosure check, commensurate to job role External liaison with Employers, Employer Groups, Clients Internal liaison with All PPDG Employees Document Ref.: COL-273 Classification: Non-Corporate Sensitive Publish Date: 18-Mar-2015 Page 2 of 3 Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes and Behaviours required for the role: Category Indicators Knowledge Requirements of contract(s) Relevant processes and procedures Client needs, wants and expectations Market knowledge/Commercial awareness Labour market and employer awareness Availability of appropriate training/development interventions Equal Opportunity and Health and Safety requirements Persuading and influencing Skills Developing others Time management and organisational Coaching Communication and interpersonal Motivational ITC Behaviours & Attitudes Approachable Open minded and impartial Team player Flexible Empathy and compassion Proactive and uses own initiative Key Responsibilities To adhere to PPDG's Code of Conduct and policies and procedures at all times To demonstrate and uphold PPDG's values at all times To demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and to promote the welfare of all stakeholders To maintain the responsibility of data protection, ensuring an awareness of all Company policies and procedures relating to data protection and to adhere to any instruction(s) given pertaining to this.
