This course is designed to provide efficient and effective firearm training to criminal justice personnel desiring to become firearms instructors. The material presented is used to teach in basic recruit academies. Students are required to provide the following: duty weapon, gun belt, flashlight, ear and eye protection, other suitable outdoor apparel, department shotgun and rifle. Further, students are to provide 400 rounds of duty ammunition, 20 rounds of buckshot/ 12 gauge ammunition and 20 rounds of .223 rifle ammunition.
