For Immediate Release: April 2nd, 2015 Savannah, GA Contact: Randi P’Pool Direct: 503-517-6376 BOB 106.9’s Tim Leary helps raise more than $2,000 for the American Diabetes Association Savannah/Hilton Head; New Country BOB 106.9 (WUBB/Alpha Media)’s Tim Leary (Tim Leary and the Morning Showgram/20 Twenty Country Countdown) took on WJCL-TV (ABC affiliate) sports director Frank “The Big Guy” Sulkowski in a jalapeñoeating contest benefitting the American Diabetes Association. The event drew more than 100 people to Jalapeño’s Mexican Grill in Pooler, GA and raised over $2,000 for the charity. During the event, each personality was presented with a plate of five, six-inch flash fried jalapeño peppers - the challenge being who could consume the most jalapeños in one minute. Alpha Media Executive VP of Programming, Scott Mahalick commented on the event, “There’s no limit to what Tim will do in the name of helping those in need.
