Treasury Assistant (Permanent) Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford, which furthers the University’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide. Reporting to the Treasury and Royalty Team Leader in our financial Shared Services Centre, this position supports the treasury process to ensure the effectiveness of the treasury function (local and foreign). This post is based in Goodwood, Cape Town. Key Accountabilities for this role: Create vendor accounts on banking system Bank accounts managed according to treasury policy Financial and month end processes performed Productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders maintained Administrative support services provided to facilitate the productivity of the department printing of bank statements and posting of cash for debtors Loading of creditors payments on the banking system Bank reconciliation Reconcile allocated balance sheet accounts As the successful candidate you must be able to clearly demonstrate: Excellent English language skills, written and spoken An ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines An ability to work on the SAP system Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent MS Excel skills Working knowledge of audit preparation and financial accounting Basic understanding of management accounting and statutory reporting Ability and commitment to perform effectively and work with others to achieve agreed business outcomes high attention to detail Knowledge of educational publishing industry will be an advantage Academic Qualifications: National Senior Certificate (accounting as a subject would be preferable) Work Experience: 2 years book keeping experience with exposure to treasury If you have the necessary qualities and you are a results-oriented team player with the relevant qualifications and level of skill required, then send your letter of motivation and CV to [email protected] Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
