General:
Pun Samaaj UK is conducting Karbakeli Puja (Kori Puja) 2015 on the 30 th of May 2015 in
1.
Basingstoke. This event will take place once a year and of course this is a remarkable event for all Pun
society members and families.
Aim:

The aim of the Karbakeli Puja is in two folds:
a.
Raise funds towards Karbakeli Thaan in Kafaldada.
b.
To carry out an annual PUJA (KORI PUJA) of Karbakeli Baba.
Participation:

All members and families of Pun Society UK are encouraged to participate on this remarkable event.
Sequence of event:

The sequence of the event may vary depending on other various activities of the day; however we will
try to stick on the following sequence where possible:
a.
07:00
- Rear gate open and start preparation.
b.
08:00 - Preliminaries Puja carryout by Pujaris.
c.
0900
d.
12:30 - Short speech by the President and followed by AGM
e.
15:00 -
Performance of PURKHEULI by Pun Samaaj UK.
f.
16:30 -
Lunch Break.
g.
17:30
Entertainment from local artist followed by DJ.
h.
20:00 - Salaijo, Dohore and Jhyaure (Mixed).

22:00 - End of Puja, Cleaning and hand over the hall.

Grouping/Tasking:
5.
The following groups/individuals are kindly requested to take responsibilities as their best possible
abilities:
a.
Preparation: All available members from local area are kindly requested to be at the hall
by 07:00 hours for preparation.
a.
Thaan Decoration:
Mr. Hari Bahadur Tilija Pun (Manager of Purkheuli - Pun Samaaj
UK) and his team are requested to turn up in time with correct items for “Karbakeli Puja” and carry
out necessary preparation and preliminary “PUJA”
b.
Pujari:
Mr. Hari Bahadur Tilija Pun, Mr. Dal Bahadur Tilija Pun and Purna Bahadur
Sherpuja Pun have agreed to be in a Pujari Team. The team is further requested to prepare
“Chhyang” for Puja purpose.
c.
Chhyama: Mrs. Hari Maya Tilija Pun is requested and has agreed to be “Chhyama”. She
is also requested to prepare sufficient “Chhyang” for Parsaad for all attendees.
d.
Foods: Basingstoke Aamaa Toli has been requested and has agreed to provide necessary
food for the day. Aamaa Toli from Basingstoke has approved to provide the following:
Morning/Starter
a.
Aludam (Moleko)
b.
Chicken drumstick
c.
Selll Roti
d.
Tomato Achar
e.
Spring Rolls (vegetable)
Lunch
a.
Chicken curry
b.
Curry mutton
c.
Mushroom
d.
Mixed vegetable
e.
Daal
e.
Roti/Chhyang: All interested members are encouraged to bring Roti and Chhyang as
Karbakeli Baba Parsaad from their own home, however sufficient ROTI will be provided by
Basingstoke Aamaa Toli.
f.
Dhaajaa/Achhitaa: A pair of Dhaaja and Achhitaa will be provided by Pujari Team at
puja location; however individuals are advised to carry out a Puja of Ghar ko Sirau at their home
prior leave their home.

g.
PA System: Entertainment member is requested to arrange Samaj’s PA system for the
event.
h.
H & S: Vice- president Mr. Birkha Purja will cover all necessary Health & Safety.
Entry Fee:

There will be NO entry fee for the event.
Drinks:
7.
Drinks will be provided by the Hall Staff so the price for drink is expected slightly higher than
normal provided by the Samaaj.

Summary:

“Karbakeli Baba” is an ancestor of Pun Society. A proper “Karbakeli Puja” will carry out once in
every 3 years however Pun Samaaj UK has decided to carry out this “Remembrance Puja” annually with
the intention of raising some funds for “Karbakeli Thaan”. All members are encouraged to participate in
this remarkable event. Your participant will be highly appreciated. Karbakeli Baba will always bless you
for your success.
