SGS Refrigeration and SPX Cooling Technologies Announce
Partnership to Produce and Sell Evaporative Condensers
SGS Refrigeration Inc., Dixon, Illinois and SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc., Overland Park, Kansas
announce the introduction of a new line of evaporative condensers to meet the demands of the
industrial refrigeration market. The new Marley® Cube™ Series includes a broad range of forced draft
and induced draft evaporative condenser models designed to address the market’s needs for high
quality components and construction, responsive service and quick and easy installation.
“We wanted the product to bear the Marley brand name because Marley has represented cooling
product innovation and quality ever since its cooling tower products were introduced in the 1920’s,”
explained Peter Spellar, President of SGS Refrigeration. “The Cube product concept emerged as the
design took shape. The cube represents the power of the three elements – quality, responsiveness and
partnership – that define the product and service attributes we feel are essential.”
The Marley Cube evaporative condensers are jointly designed and produced by SPX Cooling
Technologies, Inc. and SGS Refrigeration Inc. at their manufacturing plants in the United States. The
products are marketed by SGS Refrigeration through their network of Sales Representatives.
“It’s important to us that we build a quality evaporative condenser that is not only equal in
performance to other available products but also offers some strong customer advantages,” according
to Randy Powell, General Manager of SPX Cooling Technologies – Americas. “Through our partnership
with SGS, the Marley Evaporative Condenser accomplishes our goal.”
“With the addition of the Marley Cube evaporative condensers to the SGS broad evaporator offering, we
provide one of the most extensive airside product lines available in the industry,” stated Ed Schinner,
Vice President of SGS. “This partnership with SPX provides our customers with one very reliable source
for their airside equipment needs and will have a very positive impact on product selection and
compatibility.”
The products will debut at the International Association of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) Conference and
Exhibition in San Diego, California on March 22-25, 2015.
