The Mock Hunt Test is open to RMPLC members and Non-Members
with Pointing Labs. Non Members may join by including their dues with
their entry or on the day of the event, or pay an extra fee to participate.
We will be running a CPR event with Upland and Water testing.
Advanced and Masters Events will be available too, based on the
number of entrants. The Teal Lodge has excellent water venues that
allow quality training and testing for you and your dogs.
Participants will be expected to work as Hunt Test Staff as well as handle their dogs. This work may
entail bird planting, bird throwing, marshalling or other assignments to make our Test Day a success.
Please plan to spend at least 6 hours in support of your fellow members/handlers.
Dress Code: All people in the field and/or handling dogs will be required to wear blaze orange head gear and
some orange on their upper body. If you want to be a Gunner, you will need a current Small Game License;
Gunners will be approved by the Hunt Test Chairs or their designate. Please bring your own shotgun and NO
SHOT LARGER THAN 7!
All participants will be required to register at the Lodge, and complete an indemnity agreement for the Teal
Lodge.
The Hunt Test Experience:
Upland runs will be per APLA regulations. Number of upland dogs will be limited depending on # of judges
available. First come, first served.
Running orders will be determined based on registration numbers, and Test Stakes will be announced. The
Hunt Test will be conducted as close to an approved APLA Test as possible-handlers may experience a wait
for their “run”. APLA approved Judges will provide not only judging in the field, but will be available to provide
feedback to the handler on their performance and their dogs.
