WHAT IS FRIDAY NIGHT TEEN RESPITE? The first Friday evening of every month parents are able to drop their children (15-21 years old) with special needs off at the Rose E. TakeFive Initiative Friday Night Teen Respite Evening activities: The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University with funding from Pennsylvania Department of Health invites organizations to train volunteers to provide dinner, socialization, and a special event. (registration September 1 - 25, 2015) November 6, 2015 (registration October 1 - 30, 2015) December 4, 2015 (registration November 1 - 27, 2015) Teen Respite Volunteers We are looking for people to volunteer the first Friday of every month to work with teens (15-21 years old) with special needs while their primary caregiver takes a few precious hours to themselves. These evenings will consist of dinner, socialization and a special event. Special events will include swimming, a team sport, yoga, movie or arts & crafts. Each volunteer must attend the TakeFIVE Initiative training offered at the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA on Sunday, April 12, 2015 11:00AM-2:00PM.
