Village of Rockville Centre We also accept credit card (Visa or MasterCard) and cash Credit card transaction must be done in person Any conflict must be written on the back of your roster sheet. Games are played at 7, 8 or 9pm once a week sometimes twice a week Monday – Friday. If your team is not available on a certain day of the week or time please let us know so we can do our best to work around your schedule. Please write your email address clearly on the roster It is recommended that teams purchase liability and accident medical insurance for the basketball season. Contact your broker. Player’s who are not registered and not on the official team roster are prohibited from playing in any Rockville Centre leagues on village facilities. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS! Abuse of officials or unsportsmanlike conduct by an individual or team will result in immediate suspension from the league. ZERO TOLERANCE! If a player is ejected from a game, he or she must leave the park immediately. If ejected for a second time, he or she will be suspended from the league. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PERMITTED AT THE BASKETBALL COURTS OR PARKING LOTS. TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THEIR PLAYERS AND FANS. The Rockville Centre Summer Basketball program will be conducted at the four John Friedermann outdoor Basketball courts at Lister Park (between Barasch-Pette and Lister Fields) 1 Chester Road Rockville Centre, NY 11570 Directions: corner of Sunrise Highway and Ocean Avenues, head south onto Ocean Avenue. At the first block, turn left on Merton Avenue, continue to end of block and turn right onto Chester Rd. 200 feet left to entrance to the parking field. Inc. Oceanside Rd Rockville Centre, NY 11570 Phone: (516) 678-9238 Fax: (516) 678-9266 Email: [email protected] LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP: A) The Rockville Centre Department of Parks & Recreation believes that the most important criterion for a successful league is the equalization of competition among the teams in each league. To achieve that end, the Recreation Dept. reserves the unqualified right to rate all teams according to its concept of the team’s ability. A determination as to the acceptance of the team and of the league into which it is placed is final and irrevocable. B) There is no set number of teams that will be accepted for the availability of courts is subject to change depending on the number of reservations of the courts by local residents. Such reservations may be made any time up to the deadline for acceptance of entries in the league. C) A team from the Village of RVC has first preference over any other team in its respective league. Since the Recreation Dept. does not control the number of entries from RVC and since the number of games which may be played is limited by the availability of courts, there is no guarantee that any application for membership will be accepted even if it meets all other requirements. D) The entry fee for the league is $830.00 per team. This includes the registration fee for thirteen (13) players and ten (10) team shirts. Any additional players are $5.00 each to register and shirts are $10.00 each. CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO: INC. VILLAGE OF ROCKVILLE CENTRE. E) All fees are due SATURDAY APRIL 11, 2015. Rosters will not be accepted without full payment. GAMES: A) Games are played in accordance with the 2014-2015 High School Basketball Rules. B) League games are tentatively scheduled to commence on Monday June 8, 2015. C) Games are played weekly – Monday through Friday at LISTER PARK – JOHN FRIEDERMANN BASKETBALL COURTS – corner of Sunrise Highway and Ocean Avenue (see directions attached). In the event of rain- check with the Recreation Department at 516-678-9238 or email us at [email protected] after 5:00pm only. No information will be given out before 5:00pm. TEAM REP OR ALTERNATE REP ONLY!!! D) 10 Games will be played on dates set by schedule. No team’s request for a postponement of games will be allowed. No applications will be accepted if it is conditioned upon an indicated preference for any particular starting time. E) Games start promptly as scheduled- Game times: 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00pm. PLAYERS: It is necessary to supply names, addresses, ages, telephone numbers, and shirt sizes for all players. Each team is permitted 15 players on the roster. A) Players are eligible to compete on ONE TEAM ONLY and in one Rockville Centre league only. NO EXCEPTIONS. B) If a team uses a player not on Official Roster Form, games will be forfeited. Only players listed on the Official Roster are eligible to play. C) If a player is ejected from a game, he or she must leave the park immediately and will be suspended for the next two (2) games. If ejected for a second time, he or she will be suspended from the league. Teams are responsible for the conduct of their players and fans. Abuse of officials or unsportsmanlike conduct by an individual or team will result in immediate suspension from the league. No exceptions! D) DEADLINE FOR ROSTERS – SATURDAY APRIL 11, 2015 AT 6:00pm. Deadlines for roster changes – before beginning of 3rd game. Note: When making roster changes, team must pay an additional registration fee for each player that it adds to the roster. There are no substitutions. Each team must provide its own game ball. UNIFORMS: All teams must be uniformed. No player will be permitted to play if he or she is not completely uniformedshirts and shorts (no long pants of any kind). Extra shirts may be purchased from the Rec. Dept. for $10.00 each. FORFEITS: Any team that forfeits two games will automatically be dropped from the league and will forfeit all entry and registration fees. SCHEDULE WILL BE REVISED IMMEDIATELY. PROTESTS: When a matter of protest arises during a game- at the point of the incident, the team representative of the protesting team must notify the Recreation Department staff member present at the game that they are protesting the game. The rep. must file a hand-written protest with the Rec. Dept. office within 24 hours of the time that the game had been played. A $50 protest fee must accompany the written protest. This fee will go to the league treasury if the protest is denied. The decision of the Recreation Department is final. CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE LEAGUE: A) Based upon final standings- win/loss record, the league champion will be declared. B) In the event of identical records for the league championship only, a one-game playoff will be held. C) Specific details will be forwarded with the initial league schedule. D) The objective will be to establish each league on the basis of 6 to 11 teams. However, there may be a greater or lesser number of teams in each league. The playing schedule will be determined by the Recreation Dept. before the beginning of the season and is NOT subject to review. AWARDS: Team/Sponsor trophy will be presented to league champions. Team/Sponsor trophy will be awarded to the playoff winner and runner-up. OFFICIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Officials, scorers and timers for each game are assigned by the Recreation Dept. MISCELLANEOUS: If there are any problems, notify the Recreation Dept. representative at the courts. Any injury sustained during the basketball game must be reported immediately to the staff member present at the ball game even if it seems to be a slight injury at the time. It is the coaches’ responsibility to make this notification.
