DocuSign for Salesforce v6 Release Notes
Release Notes
DocuSign for Salesforce — 6.0.16
Published May 7, 2015
DocuSign for Salesforce version 6.x delivers a significant update to the user interface. For admins,
installation has been streamlined and simplified. The DocuSign Admin tab is completely redesigned,
making it easier to manage DocuSign for Salesforce. For users, sending envelopes with the Send with
DocuSign button is easier and offers a much cleaner interface.
These release notes provide information about the updates delivered in the release and any
subsequent patch releases.
Note: Previously, moving to newer versions of the DocuSign for Salesforce managed package has
been a manual, and voluntary, process. Starting with the DocuSign for Salesforce 4.0.x release,
DocuSign enforces major releases, as well as patches. This is an important step to make sure all
DocuSign for Salesforce customers are using the latest, most up-to-date package. Product
documentation, including these release notes and other administrator and user guides, is valid for
installations that upgrade to the stated version.
Any customer using a version of DocuSign for Salesforce older than v4.0.x (v3.11.5 and below) will
not be upgraded automatically. Upgrades begin for all v4.0.x customers no sooner than 30 days
after a new major release is listed to the AppExchange. Patches are pushed to customers
immediately. Salesforce has a strict code change limit for patches, making them safe and reliable.

What's New
This section covers the new features and functionality delivered in the release.
Send with DocuSign (6.0.1)
For users, sending envelopes is easier and offers a cleaner interface. The process to send an envelope
using the out-of-the-box Send with DocuSign button has been revamped with an updated UI and new
features.
Enhancements
Here's a summary of the version 6.0.1 enhancements to the standard sending process. For complete
information on sending documents, please see the DocuSign for Salesforce User Guide.

l
Reorder documents or recipients attached to an envelope. If there are two or more
documents, or multiple recipients, those line items can be reordered by drag-and-drop, or by
manually changing the order number.
New Quick Add option to add recipients. Senders can add a recipient to an envelope with only
their name and email address. With Quick Add, you can add a recipient who is not a Salesforce
contact.

Add a recipient to Salesforce Contacts. Senders can add a recipient to Salesforce Contacts
directly from the Add Recipient > Contacts option:
From the Add Contact dialog, click the New Recipient link. Then fill in the new contact's
information, and click Save. The contact is added to both the envelope in progress, and as a new
record in Salesforce Contacts.
Simplified Installation (6.0.1)
For Salesforce administrators, v6.0.1 delivers improvements to the DocuSign for Salesforce installation
flow. The overall process is still the same, but the steps have been reduced and simplified.
Note: This updated installation and configuration is only available for Salesforce editions which
support the Salesforce Metadata API.

This enhancement replaces the previous process, which required you to manually add DocuSign IP
ranges.
Redesigned DocuSign Admin Tab (6.0.1)
The DocuSign Admin tab is completely redesigned, making it easier to manage DocuSign for
Salesforce. In addition to a better and more intuitive interface, version 6.0 offers major improvements
in functionality as described below.
Layouts - add DocuSign features to Salesforce layouts
Layouts is a brand new page on the DocuSign Admin tab. This new page simplifies the configuration
process for adding standard DocuSign features, such as the Send with DocuSign button or Salesforce1
mobile actions, to Salesforce layouts. As a DocuSign admin, you can add and remove these basic
DocuSign elements to layouts by simply checking or clearing the check boxes.
No more manually editing each layout to add buttons and related lists. The new Layouts page brings it
all together in one central location, and offers a tremendous improvement to configuring your
DocuSign for Salesforce installation.
Note: The new Layouts view is only available for Salesforce editions which support the Salesforce
Metadata API.

Known Issues
This section covers any known issues present in the release which are likely to impact users.
RSL Custom button missing in URL (6.0.10)
When passing the parameter "RSL" as a custom button, the RSL does not appear in the URL. (DFS-2960)
Page layouts from other managed packages are not
included in the DocuSign Admin Layouts page (6.0.12)
If you have installed other managed packages in your organization that have their own custom layouts
for any of the standard Salesforce objects, those layouts are not included in the DocuSign Admin
Layouts page. (DFS-2989)
Cannot access Visualforce pages. Error: Attempt to dereference a null object (6.0.10)
If you attempt to access any Visualforce page from the DocuSign for Salesforce managed package, an
error message appears: "Attempt to de-reference a null object". (DFS-2948)
DocuSign mobile app tagging does not handle anchor
tags correctly
For accounts which have enabled mobile app tagging, there is a known issue with using anchor tags.
Specifically, if you use the standard or custom anchor tags in the documents you upload, the automatic
tagging does not work properly in the DocuSign mobile app. If you use anchor tags, you may end up
with duplicate tags or experience other, anomalous behavior. For more information on anchor tags see
Automatic Anchor Text and Tags in the DocuSign for Salesforce User Guide.
Get DocuSign Mobile App warning screen appears when
app is already installed
For Salesforce1 mobile users (iOS and Android) using the new DocuSign mobile app tagging
integration, during the setup and after sending, a warning screen is displayed, instructing the user to
download the DocuSign mobile app. This mobile app is required to use the new tagging integration.
In the Beta release, this warning appears even if the app is already installed on the mobile device. In
this case, the message automatically dismisses after a few seconds. If users have installed the
DocuSign mobile app, and they receive this message, they should just wait a few seconds for the
warning to close.

Salesforce1 error when DocuSign mobile app is not
installed (Android)
For Salesforce1 mobile users on Android only, if the DocuSign mobile app is not installed, an initial
Salesforce1 error displays: "An error has occurred. Please try again." Users can disregard this error
message. The message closes after a few seconds, and the Get DocuSign Mobile message appears,
with an action to download the required mobile app.
Contact's email address is not included for in person
signing events (Android)
For Salesforce1 mobile users on Android only, the email address for any contact selected for in person
signing is not automatically included on the envelope, and must be manually entered.
In the Beta release, for any in person signer, on the tagging page, the recipients list shows only the
signer's name and does not include the email address from the contact record. When you finish
tagging your document and tap Host Signing, the Begin Signing dialog appears, and you must enter
the signer's email address manually.
DocuSign Recipient Status related list displays only one
recipient
When sending an envelope to more than one recipient from a Leads object, the DocuSign Recipient
Status related list is only updated with the first recipient.
Solution: Modify Connect object settings for DocuSign_status_c
Until this issue is resolved in a future release, you can modify the Connect object dsfs_DocuSign_
Status_c in your DocuSign account to allow the full list of recipients to display. You must be a DocuSign
administrator to make these changes. For more information about DocuSign Connect, see the DocuSign
for Salesforce Administrator Guide.
To modify Connect object settings
1. In Salesforce, click the DocuSign Admin tab.
2. Click the Console tab to open DocuSign in a new window.
3. From DocuSign, click your profile image at the top of the console and select Preferences.
The DocuSign Account Preferences page is displayed.
4. In the navigation bar on the left side of the page, under the Account Administration heading,
click Connect.
5. Click Salesforce to open the DocuSign Connect for Salesforce configuration. The configuration

recipients from the DocuSign Recipient Status related list.
