CONFIRMATION OF SPORTS POLICY
TRIATHLON
Parents and boys are aware that all SACS men have to
participate in one summer and one winter sport. In winter,
all boys have to play either rugby, hockey or participate in
cross-country. Only AFTER committing to one of these socalled PRIMARY winter sports will permission be given to
participate in a so-called SECONDARY winter sport such as
squash, surfing, body-boarding and golf.
Frank Nagel, Steven Jarvis and
Andrew Reaper entered the
Discovery Schools’ Challenge
and came first in the U17
team sprint in a time of 51,14.
Congratulations to them.
The policy has been in place for many, many years and
cannot be “tailored” to suit the needs of individuals. Hence,
requests for exceptions to the rule are not entertained.

who assume duties of the Prefects during the June
examinations.

SACS High School is holding
its seventh Annual Concerto
Festival, next Wednesday 20
May at 7pm. SACS soloists
perform with a symphony
orchestra, conducted by
Warren
Patientia,
Levi
Alexander
and
guest
conductor, Mike Blake. The
Guest artists are Roelof
Temmingh (winner of the
SACS
National
Music
Competition) and Springfield
Convent Choir. Tickets are
R60 and can be obtained from

If you want to know how to do something, just 'google' it and you can get the answer to almost anything you want to know. I find that
people acquire more knowledge and are often satisfied with what they know because “knowledge is power.” But even if you know
exactly what you want to do, it's just something you know.
Most of the time knowledge is only potential power. When you apply the knowledge by doing something, it will truly empower you.
Most people have adequate knowledge to solve their problems and challenges, but take little or no action. When using their 'potential
power', they'll be able to move their lives forward towards living happy fulfilled lives.
I challenge you to identify two things that you know will take your life forward if you do it today. Now take action – make that phone
call, diarise that meeting, make that commitment, whatever it is, go ahead and just do it. There is power in momentum, just get going
– DO something. I know you can, but will you?
