From Trauma to Triumph
Friday, April 24, 8:30am to 4:00pm at The Salvation Army Meadowlands, 187 Stone
Church Road, Hamilton. A full day with many inspirational speakers.
Anne Marie Hagan—After her father was murdered she took the long road from
trauma to triumph and uses her experience as to teach others that murder cannot
destroy faith, hope and love.
Paul Radkowski - an internationally awarded
psychotherapist and speaker. Louise Leonardi - Executive Director of Canadian
Families and Corrections Network charity organization whose mission is to assist
families affected by crime. Glenn Allan - Sexually abused as a child, Glenn is now
President and CEO of Allan Family Media, dedicated to creating family friendly media
programs. Colleen Allan - Recovering from trafficking and drug and alcohol
addictions. Commissioner Christine MacMillan - a Salvation Army officer also
trained as an addictions counsellor. Tickets $50 (includes lunch) Registration forms
are available on the bulletin board across from the kitchen.
Provincial Women’s Retreats 2015 at Jackson’s Point Conference Centre
There are three Women’s Retreats this Fall as follows
Retreat #1 - Sept. 25-27 (hosted by OGL Division)
Theme: Tangled
Special Guests: Commissioner Rosalie Peddle, Stephanie Forystek and Capt. Krista

Retreat #2 - Oct. 2-4 (hosted by OCE & OGL Divisions) Theme: Portraits of
Boundless Love Special Guest: Major Marina Jennings
Retreat #3 - Oct. 23-25 (hosted by OCE Division) Theme: Joy: Find it. Keep it.
Special Guest: Susan Lawrence from Illinois
Cost: Conference Centre $200 / Cedar Lodge $180 (double occupancy)
Limit of 130 ladies per retreat. Register early to avoid disappointment. Forms are
available from Major Deborah.
Community Care Ministries
Basic Training “The Art of Caring” Wednesday, April 29 9:00am to 1:00pm at St.
Marys Community Church in St. Mary’s Cost: $10 includes meal and materials. If
interested in attending see Kathrine Vatcher or Major Deborah before April 22.
Shalom Counselling Services
Fundraising Breakfast “A Successful Depression” with Lawyer, Orlando DaSilva,
President of the Ontario Bar Association. Saturday, May 2 8:30 to 11:00am at
Waterloo North Mennonite Church. $20 (subsidized tickets available for students/

Community Car Share
Kitchener Community Church has become a Quantum Station for Community
CarShare. Soon there will be one designated/marked spot in our parking lot for one
of their vehicles should it be needed. We ask that you honour this agreement with
Community CarShare by not parking in the designated spot at any time. Thank you
