2015 Simply Texas Blues Festival
Band & Solo/Duo Competition Entry Form

This REGIONAL IBC competition will be held on May 9th at 12 noon and will wrap up at approximately 6:00pm. You
may enter the band category (3 or more musicians, vocalists included) and or the solo/duo category. Each set will
be allotted 20 minutes. We mirror much of this preliminary competition from the International Blues Challenge
rules and judging criteria. It is Strongly suggested that you familiarize yourself with the IBC website at
blues.org.
The winning acts in each category will be awarded a cash prize ($1,750 band and $750 solo/duo) when they represent
our Blues Society chapter at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) held in Memphis, TN, Jan 2016. (They will receive
these funds in January 2016 just prior to traveling to Memphis. If not entering in Memphis, no cash will be awarded.)
All entrants of this IBC prelim must be in attendance at the time the winners are announced following the challenge
on Saturday. Winning acts will perform a short set right after announcement, opening for the evening headliners
2014 IBC Finalist GhostTown Blues Band and Multi- Award Winner SAMANTHA FISH.
Entry fee is $25 band and $25 solo/duo. Checks should be made payable to “San Angelo Blues Society”. There is a
limited amount of space in the Blues Challenge 2015 therefore each entry Must submit a CD, video, or website
link as example of its blues music With the application.
FIRM DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES is Friday, April 17th 2015. THIS INCLUDES ANY ITEMS MAILED.
You will be notified by email to your acceptance into the competition by Friday,
April 24th, with further direction and specifics.
