ABOUT THE ROLE

nerds capable of engineering a brilliant backend.

As Director of User Research you’ll be responsible for designing, conducting and
overseeing research activities to understand the needs and desires of our target
audience and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations.

well versed in managing teams while inspiring them to advocate for the needs of
the user.

What You'll Do
What You Bring
+ Oversee, as well as design and
+ MS, MDM, MIMS or PhD in
conduct user research activities at
every stage of the product lifecycle,
including all aspects of the end-toend experience
+ Deliver insights verbally and visually
in a way the generates empathy,
emotion and engagement from the
product team and other internal
stakeholders
+ Provide operational leadership
and management of a team of
user researchers (HR, budget,
project planning)
+ Facilitate individual growth
and development for each
user researcher
+ Develop partnerships with design
leadership, executives, product
owners and other key stakeholders
who want to create more successful
products and a more compelling
user experience
+ Evangelize and demonstrate
user research impact on products,
especially research in the product
definition phase
+ Drive user-centered product
definition and iteration
+ Mentor team members to do
informal research and usability
studies
related field
+ 5–10 years experience in an
innovative leadership role
+ 3+ years management experience,
including performance reviews
and budgets
+ Proven ability to influence and build
strategic working relationships with
internal/external customers, peers
and vendors regardless of seniority
+ Ability to think strategically,
execute research methods and
interview techniques
+ Empathy and passion for people, as
well as a natural skill for engaging at
a deep level and fostering this
