Junior year in high school
September
Attend a college fair to begin gathering information on colleges.
October
Take the PSAT.
January
Take a free tour of campus. (tours.unt.edu or 940-565-4104)
February
Register for a spring SAT or ACT. Forward test results to UNT’s
Office of Admissions. UNT’s school code is 6481 for the SAT
and 4136 for the ACT.
Attend UNT Spring Preview. (untpreview.unt.edu )
July
Review requirements and deadlines for admission, housing,
scholarships and financial aid.
Senior year in high school
August
Apply to UNT. (www.applytexas.org )
Register for the fall SAT or ACT if necessary. Forward test results
to UNT’s Office of Admissions.
September
Submit the UNT General Scholarship Application.

October
Remember to send us your transcripts.
Once you’re accepted, reserve a spot at Freshman Orientation.
January
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Designate UNT as the college to receive your FAFSA information.
UNT’s school code is 003594.
Reserve a residence hall at UNT and include deposit and pre-payment.
April
Attend our event for admitted students. (premiere.unt.edu )

Applications received after the listed dates may be subject to late fees.
Admission Requirements
A new state law requires all first-time freshmen to either:
•
Successfully complete the curriculum requirements for the distinguished level
of achievement under the Texas Foundation, Recommended or Distinguished
Achievement high school program or its equivalent. Minimum curriculum
requirements exist, which includes the successful completion of three years of
math including Algebra II or a higher level of math.
•
Earn an SAT score of at least 1500 out of 2400 or satisfy ACT benchmarks
of 18 in English, 22 in math, 21 in social sciences and 24 in science.
Top 10 percent of high school class – Submit SAT or ACT score
Next 15 percent of high school class – Minimum 950 SAT or 20 ACT score*
Second quarter of high school class – Minimum 1050 SAT or 23 ACT score*
Third quarter of high school class – Minimum 1180 SAT or 26 ACT score*
* combined Critical Reading/Verbal+Math
