News Release For immediate release JOANNE KERR CMHC/ASR DISTINGUISHED REALTOR® Saskatoon, SK – April 24, 2015: The Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® (ASR), in conjunction with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), is pleased to announce that Joanne Kerr of RE/MAX Saskatoon is the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished REALTOR® Award. The award was presented by Earl Kotlar, Manager of Business Development for CMHC for the Prairies and Territories at the ASR Quality of Life Legacy Gala held April 14th in Regina. Joanne was caught completely off-guard saying, “I had absolutely no idea this was happening tonight! I’m delighted, of course, but really taken aback.” Joanne went on to talk about her late father, also a REALTOR®, who set the example of providing truly excellent customer service. The purpose of the Distinguished REALTOR® Award is to recognize an active member of the Association who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the real estate community through involvement in the provincial Association, local board and the community. Joanne has done all of these things. Joanne was the first chairperson of the Quality of Life Committee and built the committee from the ground up. She worked tirelessly to provide the vision and manpower to make the Gala and fundraisers a success. In 2006, Joanne was honoured as the Saskatoon REALTOR® of the Year, proof of the high esteem in which she is held by her peers. Joanne is an enthusiastic supporter of education, leadership – really, all things real estate. She served a total of five years on the Saskatoon Region Association of REALTORS®, including President in 2007, before taking on the role of ASR director for five years. Bill Madder, ASR CEO, and longtime friend of Joanne remarked “Joanne is one of the most outspoken and influential women to sit at the ASR directors’ table. Well known, respected, and highly visible in her community.” “It is with great pride that we congratulate Joanne Kerr on being selected to receive this honour” continued Madder, “and wish her continued success.” The Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® (ASR) is the primary advocate for organized real estate in Saskatchewan. As a not-for-profit organization, it provides direction, leadership and support services to its members, the industry and the public. Through effective communication and quality education, the ASR also strives to ensure a healthy real estate environment that allows for increased quality of life in our communities. Real estate is at the core of our economy and advocating for a strategic sustainable approach ensures continued growth and prosperity in Saskatchewan. - 30 For more information, please contact: Bill Madder, Chief Executive Officer Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® 306.220.9570 [email protected] **EN FRANÇAIS: Personne contacte et informations en français disponibles sur demande.
