Healing Racism Series
Healing Racism Series The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy and the Healing Racism Committee Present Your Racial Issue … Not My Problem? Racism continues to tax our minds and ensnare our hearts. It’s divisive, malignant, and a threat to the health of all communities. Brown, Black or White, Asian or Indigenous, racism affects us all; yet it is often seen as a singular problem, affecting the “urban” and “underserved.” These perceptions separate us on an issue that requires our unified attention. To promote justice and engender positive change, we must emerge from cultural silos, learn from each other, and speak the truth about racism. Join the Healing Racism Committee for this full-day symposium where participants will learn from experts, interact with peers, community leaders, and organizations in the exploration of racial differences and the intersections at which alliances can be forged and leveraged to eliminate racism and promote harmony. Space is limited. Registration Required. Register online at csrd.asu.edu/healingracism or call 602-496-1376 This symposium is the last program of a four-part series addressing the theme of solutions to racism. The Healing Racism Committee facilitates public discussions concerning current events and topics related to racism, Arizona communities and American society. Dialogs are designed to bring together academic experts, community leaders, and citizens for engaging discussions that encourage critical thinking and positive change.
