CREATE YOUR OWN ARTS IMMERSION DAY! Hands-On Introduction to the Arts Go beyond the classroom for an interactive day of multi-disciplinary arts education workshops. Reward your students with a unique arts enrichment opportunity featuring dance, music, theater, and visual arts experiences. General education public and private school students, homeschool groups, scouting groups, and accelerated learning programs are all encouraged to customize an Arts Immersion Day at the Schauer Center OR at your school. THE BENEFITS The one-day intensive program will challenge students to think big and create bigger, helping to discover their own artistic vision or inner voice. Aside from exploring their artistic potential, students will gain positive values such as cooperation and self-confidence. Studies have shown that the arts enhance student achievement and performance in the core curriculum areas of math, science, and reading. Arts education is also critical in developing empathy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and other 21st centrury work skills. THE WORKSHOPS The program at the Schauer Center includes four rotated 50-minute workshops, and a 30-minute break for lunch (lunch is not provided). Each workshop will offer professional instruction by teaching artists, with volunteer support as needed. GRADE LEVELS Recommended for students in grades K5-8; the workshops are adjusted for grade appropriateness and/or for achievement of specific skills or goals. GROUP SIZE We request a minimum of 60 participants. Smaller groups may be possible with an adjustment in fees. A recommended max group size is 120.
