St. Christopher School Soccer Season 2015
Our school participates in the Western New York Parochial Kickers Soccer
League (parochialkickers.org). This is a recreational soccer league for all
students in grades 1-8. Students of all skill levels are welcome to join.
There are no try-outs and there is equal playing time for all players . Last
year over 200 St. Christopher students played on our soccer teams!
The cost for the season is $30.00 per child. Each child will also need a St.
Christopher soccer jersey. These are an additional $20.00 each. If you
already have a jersey you do not have to order a new one unless you need a
larger size. Players will also need a soccer ball, shin guards, outdoor soccer
cleats, navy blue shorts and navy blue soccer socks. These can be purchased
at any local sporting goods store – Dicks, Olympia, etc.
There are 4 age divisions in our league:
Mites – Grades 1 and 2, PeeWee – Grade 3 and 4, Junior Varsity – Grades
5 and 6, and Varsity – Grades 7 and 8. Teams are divided as evenly as
possible by grade, gender and abilities. Sorry, there are no requests for
teams. Children from the same family will be placed on the same team if
they fall into the same age division.
Each team will play 7 games total and practices are usually only 1 day a
week. Practices will typically be held either at St. Christopher or
Wendelville Fire Dept. fields in Pendleton on Saturdays. Games could be on
Wednesday nights, Thursday nights or Sunday afternoons. About half of the
games will be “Home” and about half will be “Away” at other Catholic
schools in our area. JV and Varsity will play at home at Ives Pond Park in
Tonawanda. PeeWee will play at home at East/Niagara Park in Tonawanda.
Mites home games will be at St. Christopher School. No games will be held
on Memorial Day Weekend. Games potentially start Sunday, May 3rd and
the season ends Thursday, June 4th. The weekend of June 7th-8th will be
the tournament weekend for all age groups.
Coaches are selected by the Sports Committee, please volunteer . Coaches
will notify you which team your child is on by Sunday, April 19th, 2015 .
