Dear Friends of Scott Smed,
Game day is coming and, once again, you are invited to make a difference in the lives of Calgarians, one last time
at this event.
Because of you and a day of golf we’ve built Scott Smed Rooms at each of the four hospitals in Calgary and an
additional four triage rooms for early gestational loss have also been designated at the South Health Campus
(SHC). These rooms are an integral part of the patient and family centred care that the facility strives to provide.
Scott’s delight would be at the fact that in this, the 15th final year of our tournament, you are ensuring his legacy.
Tournament proceeds will also fund an endowment to underwrite the operating costs for all our facilities.
The tournament also funds Calgary’s local non-for-profits including the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary,
providing nutritional education and thousands of meals to Calgary school children through the program’s Tummy
Tamers and Souper Stars. KidSport paves the way for children who could not otherwise participate in sports
programs throughout the year. At the end of the day, what we have done is create something that is good for our
city. Which means its got to be good for you and I.
Which is why I’m asking you to join us at the 15th Annual Scott Smed Invitational. Game day is Monday,
September 14, 2015. At the Cottonwood Golf & Country Club. It’ll be a fine day for golfing for three great causes.

tears and the spirit of giving.
