‘Connecting in the Community’ is a Winner for C-Res
C-Res (Qld) Pty Ltd was recognized for its ongoing commitment to local business communities by being
awarded the “Connecting in the Community Award” at the recent Resource Industry Network’s Gala Awards,
held in Mackay on Friday 21 May 2015.
Tracey Cuttriss-Smith, Manager of C-Res stated that she was “extremely honored by the award as
connecting with the business communities in the Mackay Region and across the Bowen Basin is a priority of
all staff at C-Res in their role of delivering the BMA Local Buying Program, in partnership with BMA”.
The award was accepted on the evening by Debbie Porter, C-Res Program Supervisor who thanked BMA,
BMC, REDC and all those involved in assisting with the success of C-Res from establishment in 2012 until
now.
The BMA Local Buying Program is a targeted program providing opportunities for small to medium
businesses, based in BMA and BMC’s identified communities of interest, to competitively supply goods and
services to BMA and/or BMC (BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal).
Since July 2012, C-Res on behalf of BMA and BMC have processed nearly 4,500 work opportunities to over
650 local businesses valuing $47.1M dollars.
Another element of the BMA Local Buying Program that C-Res is proud to administer on behalf of BMA and
BMC is the Local Buying Community Foundation. For every transaction that is processed through the BMA
Local Buying Program a financial contribution is made to the Foundation. The foundations priorities are
Building Sustainable Futures and Building Sustainable Business Communities.
