Mike Gibbons
SCSU Assistant Coach
Mike Gibbons will begin
his 9th season as an
assistant coach at SCSU
in 2015-2016. In his
coaching career that
spans more than 29 years,
Gibbons has had the
opportunity to coach at all levels of the game
including high school, juniors, college and
professional.
The camp will focus on teaching the
fundamentals of hockey. There will be (2) hour
and half ice sessions per day. A large portion of
the morning session will be devoted to skating
fundamentals and individual stick skills. The
afternoon sessions will touch on more skating
and skills and then we will incorporate those
skills with competitive small games. In between
ice sessions there will be an off ice hockey
training time slot and also some supervised
recreational activities (one day will be rock
climbing). The camp will begin on Monday July
27 and end on Friday July 31. The camp will
conclude Friday morning with a game. Squirt
and mite games will be from about 8-10am
and peewee and bantam games will be from
about 10-noon.
