Reservation Request Form
The Museum Ambassador Program at the de Young Museum offers a free art program for summer camps, cultural centers, libraries,
senior centers and community groups. The program includes an art activity at your site and a tour at the museum.
Museum Ambassadors - San Francisco High School students trained as Museum Educators - help children explore our special exhibition,
J.M.W. Turner: Painting Set Free. This is a two-part program. The first session will be held at your site where Museum Ambassadors will
lead small groups in a painting activity. In the second session, we invite your group to visit the de Young museum for a tour of the
special exhibition led by Museum Ambassadors.
RESERVATION GUIDELINES




This is a two-part program. Your group will receive a
presentation at your site and a tour at the museum.
Each presentation will include an art activity and last
1.5 hours at your site. The tour at the de Young will
last 1 hour.
Each reservation accommodates one class of 30 or
fewer students. Larger groups require multiple
reservations.



A minimum of one adult chaperone is required for
every 10 student on the museum tour.
This form can be copied. Keep a copy for your record.
Requests will be processed in the order they are
received.
If your group must cancel, there is no guarantee for
another reservation time.

Painting Set Free
Cultural centers, libraries, summer camps, senior centers, and other community groups are invited to
participate in the free activity and tour. This is a two part program:
1. First, enjoy an interactive and educational introduction to the paintings of the 19th century British artist
J.M.W. Turner at your site with a related painting project.
2. Next, bring your group to the de Young for an interactive tour of J.M.W Turner: Paintings Set Free.
Museum Ambassadors—San Francisco high school students trained as museum educators—are
available to visit the site of your summer program to help children explore our special exhibtion, J.M.W.
Turner: Painting Set Free. At your site Ambassadors will lead small groups in a painting activity. In a
second session Ambassadors will lead your group on a tour of the special exhibtion at the de Young
Museum.
