Starting blocks will be furnished. Please do NOT bring any or leave with any.
Electronic Devices:
Cell phones must be on silent or turned off, and they should not be used in any of the
competition areas. Personal music devices and headphones are not be used in competition areas as they can
keep athletes from hearing announcements or instructions from officials. This will be a very busy meet and
athletes need to be FULLY aware of their surroundings at all times.
Pictures & Video:
Pictures taken with cell phones and video cameras etc. can only be shown to athletes in
designated, non-competition areas. They may NOT be shown in competition areas, or competitors risk
disqualification. Parents and spectators choosing to video tape must be aware of this rule. Also all video
recording must be done on battery power. The host site will not be providing electrical access for coaches or
spectators. Pictures and videos taken with cameras, other than those designated by meet management, cannot
be used to determine places, or otherwise affect an official’s decision or ruling, or serve as grounds for an appeal.
Press Box Access:
No parents or spectators will be allowed in or on top of the press box. Coaches should
refrain from entering the press box unless they are submitting scratches or other paperwork. Awards & results
will be distributed shortly after the last race…extra people in the press box will simply slow that process.
1 relay team per event and up to 3 entries per individual event,
plus each team will have a maximum of 6 “wildcard” entries.
Entries:
Each team may enter
Wildcard entries may be spread out among 6 different events to allow 4 entries in those events, or they can be
used on only a few events allowing for several entries in one or two events. (For example: one could enter 6 Pole
Vaulters and 6 High Jumpers if they choose (as long as they are competitive), but they can then only enter 3
athletes in everything else.) How these wildcards are used is up the individual coach, but if more than 6 are
entered, the extras will be scratched…and management will probably scratch the wrong ones.
Entering fewer than 3 entries in one event will NOT grant additional wildcard entries for another event.
DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN SIX EXTRA ATHLETES!!!
This is not a dual meet. This is a CHAMPIONSHIP MEET. Do not enter athletes who not competitive.
Seed times must come from ACTUAL RESULTS from THIS SEASON. Like regionals, you are not allowed
to enter what you “think” your athlete “could” run, or what you “hope” they will run, or what they ran
last year. Only REAL results from this year may be used. Athletes who do not have a seed time can be
entered, but must be entered with NT (no time) for seeding purposes. All events are timed finals, and
all heats will count.
Formatting your entry times:
F.A.T. times are considered accurate and are to be submitted at face value and listed to the one-hundredth of a
second ( ie 1:23.45 ).
Hand times must be rounded UP to the next higher tenth, then ADD 0.40 seconds. (A hand time of 10.92 rounds
UP to 11.0h, then you ADD 0.4 to equal = 11.40 ; thus, a hand time of 10.92 will be seeded slower than a FAT
time of 11.39.
Changes on Meet Day:
Coaches will be allowed ONE (single event) substitution on meet day,
at the beginning of the day.
Otherwise, ONLY scratches will be allowed. Please don’t ask for “favors.”
Relay cards will be collected at check-in, but relay members needn’t be designated prior to the meet.
False Times:
Confirmed false times will be placed in last position or first section without seeding
consideration. The coach challenged must submit verification of times and distances. Meet management
WILL question times that cannot be verified easily in the public domain (official results on athletic.net , etc.).
Other coaches are encouraged to do so as well.
Coaches – Please be honest, and do not place your athletes in an awkward position!
Entry Deadline:
Entries must be submitted by Tuesday,
May 6th at 11:59p.m.
If possible, a list of preliminary entries will be posted online by Thursday evening.
Reporting in teams:
Coaches must report to the recorder’s table in the tent at the Start/Finish Line to pick
up their school’s informational packet. Only athletes in uniform will be admitted to the stadium with their team.
All others will be charged admission.
Coaches Meeting:
12:00 PM
Scoring/Medals:
Individual Events
Relay Events
Scoring: 10 – 8 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Medals:
Scoring: 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2
Medals:
1–2–3
1st Place Only
*All Medal Winners are Considered “All Conference” in their respective divisions.
Infield Area:
Only participating athletes and coaches will be allowed in the infield area.
No tents, footballs, Frisbees, parents, or fan-clubs will be allowed in the infield area. Coaches and competing
athletes must be aware of their surroundings. Interference with an event that is in progress may result in
disqualification and/or removal from the infield. Coaches and athletes are asked to be especially cautious near
the finish area and stay clear of the timing equipment as well as the finish line itself.
Athlete Check-In:
Athletes are expected to proceed to their events EARLY to check in. There will be many heats on the track, and if
there is a need to re-seed and fill empty lanes, this can only be done if athletes are clerked early. Due to the
design of the schedule, there should be almost no need to “check-out” from a field event, and there should be
very little overlapping of events. Thus there is no excuse for athletes to be late. Anyone who has not reported by
the second call risks being scratched from an event.
At the starting lines, there will be bins provided for athletes to use for garments not being worn during the race.
Athletes will pick up items at the finish line area.
*** HOWEVER – Athletes are highly discouraged from bringing valuables (including jewelry or electronic
devices) to the track meet. Meet management is NOT responsible for any losses or thefts!
Athletes will be asked to leave infield upon conclusion of their race.
Team Camps & Tents:
There will be no team camps allowed on the infield. Tents and team camps
should be set up in designated areas, away from the field event areas, and noise levels must be kept reasonable.
No stereos, speakers, footballs, Frisbees, tennis balls or other distracting items should be brought to the meet,
even in the team-camp areas.
Field Events
Shot Put & Discus:
Each athlete will be allowed 4 throws (2+2), and there will be no finals.
Implement Weigh In: Shots & Discs will be weighed in the barn from 11:30 until 12:30
*At the discretion of meet management, “community shots” (of varying diameters) may
be provided, and everyone in the field may be required to use the same shots in
competition. If this is the case, only discs will need to be weighed and measured.
Long Jump:
Each athlete will be allowed 4 jumps, and there will be no finals.
Each Gender will have its own 75 minute Open-Pit as well as its own 30 minute warm-up
period preceding it. Athletes must get their warm-ups completed during the designated
time period and must get their jumps completed during the designated open-pit period.
No exceptions.
High Jump:
Each gender will compete separately during the time period noted on the schedule.
There should generally be no reason for athletes to check out of the event as the High
Jump will not overlap with very many other events.
Boys’ Starting Height will be 5’ 3” with 2” raises until only 2 competitors remain.
Girls’ Starting Height will be 4’ 3” with 2” raises until only 2 competitors remain.
* Raises will stop on both the D1 & D2 Regional AQ standards as long as
there are athletes remaining in the competition who have not yet met them.
Pole Vault:
Each gender will have at least 30 minutes allotted to warm up prior to their event. Extra
time or run-throughs will NOT be given for anyone that misses the warm-up period.
Boys’ Starting Height will be 10’ 1” with 6” raises until only 2 competitors remain.
Girls’ Starting Height will be 7’ 7” with 6” raises until only 2 competitors remain.
* Raises will stop on both the D1 & D2 Regional AQ standards as long as
there are athletes remaining in the competition who have not yet met them.
Prior to the competition, all poles must be checked and verified with the referee.
