Discover
Five Things That Make Milwaukee Special
Location
Many refer to Milwaukee as “a great place on a great lake.” Located on
the western shores of Lake Michigan, it offers miles of lakefront beaches
and parks with commanding vistas of the “local ocean.” Milwaukee is
also conveniently located – 90 minutes from Chicago, 70 minutes from
Madison and two hours from the legendary North Woods of Wisconsin.
Action
Newcomers are often surprised at all the region has to offer, especially
in the summer when the city comes alive with Summerfest, the World’s
Largest Music Festival, as well as the many ethnics festivals held on
the lakefront. Milwaukee also boasts an innovative and vibrant theater
district, dining cuisines from around the world and a wide range of
professional and collegiate sporting activities.
People
There’s something special about Wisconsin folks. They’re straight-shooting, without being offensive. They’re ready to help you with what ever
you need. And, they’re a lot of fun. You will find it easy to fit in here.
Size
Milwaukee blends all the amenities of a large city with the warmhearted,
friendly nature of a small town. Everything is easily accessible. Milwaukee
boasts one of the lowest commute times in the country and no matter
where you are in the region, you’re just 15 minutes away from whatever
your preference – urban energy, suburban living and rural tranquility, all
set against the backdrop of Lake Michigan and the rolling hills of southeastern Wisconsin.
Climate
Let’s face it – winter can be fun, provided you’re in the right place. And
there is no better place to enjoy winter than Wisconsin. Think downhill
and cross-country skiing, nighttime ice skating, ice fishing and winter
festivals. There’s also no better place to enjoy the beautiful greens of
spring, the toasty, lazy days of summer and the crisp, cool and colorful
days of autumn. Every season is well represented here.
