Hammerglass EnergyBlinds
Reflect over 80% of solar energy back through the glass
Improves the U-value of windows and doors by up to 30%
Energy Efficient!
Hammerglass EnergyBlinds are a unique
product designed to be both aesthetically
pleasing and practical. The design allows
any window or door to retain its visual aspect whilst offering maximum protection
from the heat and light of the sun’s rays.
Hammerglass EnergyBlinds will reduce the
heat transfer into a room by up to 85%.
This reduces the cost of cooling a room by
over 25% whilst also improving the overall
working environment.
During winter months Hammerglass
EnergyBlinds allows heat to be retained
within a room. When closed, the blind will
improve a window’s U-value by over 30%,
with associated cost savings. Tests were
carried out by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute using a double
glazed window with a U-value of 2.7.
Improves the U-value
by up to 30%!
Hammerglass EnergyBlinds are available as standard or automatic cartridges
with the alternative of bottom mounted
cartridges offering the ability to make the
most of natural daylight.
Efficient - Flexible - Attractive!
•
Unique reflective aluminium laminate combined with a sunscreen produces the revolutionary reduction in heat build up.
•
Design finish creates extra strength and rigidity enabling EnergyBlinds
to be used on larger windows.
•
Provide the same efficiency as many external sunscreens. Designed
to retain the full vista of any window or door.
•
Can be combined with electrically operated cartridges. Also available
with bottom-mounted cartridge for better use of daylight.
•
EnergyBlinds can be used in tandem or triplicate for window sizes
over 1800 mm wide. Maximum window height 5000 mm for curtains
in one piece.
•
Integrated guide rails allow for simple operation on normal, sash and
skylight windows alike.
•
The cartridge is available in standard finish of white or naturally anodised. All aluminium sections can be powder coated to any RAL colour at an additional cost.
•
•
Differing light finishes available.
Sturdy mechanism for years of trouble free use with our additional
5-year guarantee.
Choice of Finish
Blue15: Allows light transmission of 15%. The most popular finish utilising our darkest blue gray film with aluminium backing. This maximises the
sunscreening effect optimising the energy efficiency savings.
Maximum width 1840 mm.
Blue40: Allows light transmission of 40%. For a softer solution using a
lighter blue gray film. Maximum width 1540 mm.
Smoke10: Allows light transmission of 10%. A darker film without the addition of aluminium backing. Sometimes favoured from a design perspective. Maximum width 1540 mm.
Attractive cartridge and discrete guiderails
Blackout: For use where complete elimination of light is required. Available with either a black or white interior finish. Maximum width 1540 mm.
This is why Hammerglass EnergyBlinds work so well...
Sun rays consist of visible light, infrared radiation (IR) and ultraviolet radiation (UV). There are three kinds of UV-radiation: UV-A
(bleaches furniture), UV-B (makes us tanned) and UV-C.
Window glass only allows light with wavelengths between 350-2500 nm to pass (1). Therefore only UV-A transmits through
the window. This is also the reason why we don’t get tanned indoors - the wavelengths of the UV-B rays are too short to pass
through. When sunlight hits a surface, it is converted to the long-wave radiation. It is this radiation that heats up the room - and
remains there without possibility of escaping through the window glass.
Hammerglass EnergyBlinds work as a mirror which reflects the sun’s rays without altering their wavelength (3).

Improved U-value!
Heat loss is indicated by the U-value. A window’s U-value
tells us how well the combination of glass and frame insulate. The lower the U-value is, the better the window insulates.
Hammerglass EnergyBlinds improve the U-value by up to
30%. This means an EnergyBlind, pulled down at night, reduces the building’s energy loss through the window by up
to 30%!
