Murray-Lindsay Mansion
Tour the home of Irish immigrant Frank Murray
and his Chickasaw Indian wife, Alzira McCaughey.
Built just outside Lindsay in 1882, the historic
Murray-Lindsay Mansion was once the largest and
most ornate in the Chickasaw Nation, featuring 15
rooms, two baths and four fireplaces.
First State Bank Historical Museum
See the very first state bank charter established at statehood! The Elmore City
building was constructed of hand-molded sand blocks from a nearby creek in
the early 1900s. A local businessman, J.P. Gibson, and community members
organized the bank. The First State Bank Historical Museum opened in 1996
and has multiple original documents dating back to statehood.
