Delipap Oy has appointed a new Managing Director from
October 1st, 2015
Our family company’s current Managing Director Oskari Nuortie
shifts to the company’s Board of Directors and his younger sister,
Sanna Karhu, assumes the position as Managing Director. Sanna
has served as Vice President of the company for 14 years and in
the Board of Directors for 7 years. Oskari’s other sister and the
company’s third owner, Riikka Nuortie, serves as Production
Manager at the Veikkola plant and as a member of the Board of
Directors.
As a managing director, Oskari Nuortie has been steering
Delipap’s development forward already for 14 years. During this
time several significant milestones have been achieved, the latest of them being the new open diaper
machine acquisition project for Tammisaari factory last year. In the family business, he has successfully
carried forward Finnish quality work and entrepreneurship.
Sanna Karhu will continue to sustain the company’s values and the responsible work towards strong brand
development. “The desire of the owners is to continue as a family business. With a humble mind, my wish is
to take the company towards further success and hand it over, even more viable and competitive, to future
generations.”
Delipap Oy is Finland’s only manufacturer of disposable diapers and sanitary towels. Its core values are
quality made in Finland, environmental responsibility and skin friendliness. Delipap’s business idea begun
when our father Raimo Nuortie was nursing his small son whose skin did not tolerate the cloth diapers of the
time. Thus began the development of a new kind of diaper structure with an idea to use pure paper chips
mixed with fibred fluff pulp as an absorbent core. The paper chips created a structure of soft layers that spread
the moisture evenly within the diaper. Nuortie patented his idea and started to manufacture diapers in 1978.
From these first diapers, Delipap slowly developed today’s Muumi Baby diapers and soon the company also
expanded into feminine hygiene and the Vuokkoset range.
