Vertical bath is one of the types of kinesitherapy in
the swimming pool
The organism acts:
•Gravity and Archimedes force
•Water resistance
•Temperature
•Mineral water
•Exercises
Gravity and Archimedes force
•Body mass decrease 9/10
•Hydrostatic pressure acts Merkel cells
•Comfort and "weightlessness" sensation
•Decreases joints and muscle pain
•The patient can perform more and larger amplitude
movements
Water resistance
•Doing movements must to overcome the resistance
of water
•Strengthens muscles
Temperature
•Water
temperature 34-36˚C
•Relaxing tense muscles
•The patient can perform more and larger amplitude
movements
•Trained thermoregulatory function of the body
Mineral water
•Bath mineralization 7-9 g/l
•Osmotic pressure affects the skin mechanoreceptor
•Decreases skin tactile and pain sensitivity
•Decreases inflammatory processes
Exercises
•Improve
blood flow
•Strengthens muscles
•Increasing intervertebral spaces
•Decreases nerve root compression
•Become rare and deeper breathing
•Increasing access of oxygen in organizm
•Accelerated removal of inflammatory substances
from the organism
Indications:
• Lesions of movement-support apparatus system diseases
• Nervous system diseases
Contraindications
• Acute inflammatory diseases
Doing methodic:
•Water temperature 34-36˚C
•Duration 30 - 35 min
•The procedure leads kinesitherapist
•Pool depth at the edges 140 cm
•Step depth 150 cm
•Pool depth in the center 190 cm
Sequence:
•Exercises near the wall
•Exercises on the berths (inclined planes)
•Exercises with trapezes
•Exercises in life circles
•Spinal relaxation with trapeze support
•Neck stretching
