The Authentic Cuisine
“Anaar” or “pomegranate” in Persian is the ‘magic touch ‘of Persian cuisine. Anaar symbolizes
abundance and fertility, and was often depicted in art and poetry. The palaces of the great shahs of
Persia have always had drawings and artwork portraying the ‘heavenly fruit’.
Anaar is my realized dream. To me, cooking was never about mixing ingredients together or feeding,
it is about passion, nourishing and caring. Wholeheartedly, when cooking, I think of the people who
will be eating my food, I want to give them a piece of joy, a real taste of Persia.
I care about every choice in Anaar, starting with choosing the suitable pot, the right mountain herbs,
the freshest vegetables and meats, carefully balancing every flavor to perfection.
Anaar is about truly authentic and wholesome meals. To give each of our dishes its authentic Persian
taste, we import various essential ingredients from Iran, such as “Albaloo”(sour cherry), herbs, spices,
various kinds of beans, barley and wheat. We use rice from the Northern Province of Mazandaran,
better known as the Land of Rice in Iran. Saffron, Persia’s gift to the world is imported from the
Province of Khorasan along with “Zereshk” (barberry). We use fresh vegetables, organic chicken and
local meat that we get daily from the market.
Our various aromatic pickles are made according to traditional old recipes that have been in my family
for generations.
Our cooking follows the traditions of Persian cooking, bringing you the authenticity of Persian taste
and taking you on a journey of culinary creations.
