2 Welcome
When Hasbro premiered their new My Little Pony franchise
in October of 2010, nobody could have ever predicted the
community of fans that would grow around the show. Yet,
here we are almost three years later, still joined together by
our shared love of our favorite characters and the friends
we’ve all made because of them. And it’s for this community
of acceptance and friendship that we work so hard to bring
the biggest, best brony convention in the world!
BronyCon started as a tiny 100-person event in New York City, and since then
we’ve grown into bigger and better venues until, in the seafaring city of Baltimore, we found a home in the Baltimore Convention Center – a place where
we can freely expand our horizons anywhere we choose. It is this freedom
that has allowed us to make this year’s BronyCon the most amazing tribute
to brony culture that has ever been held, and we know you will love all the
things we have in store.
Guests of Honor
G.M. Berrow
The fantastic writer for the My Little Pony: Friendship is
Magic books is joining us for the first time at BronyCon,
and we are excited to have her!. Aside from pony-related pursuits, she’s also worked behind the scenes on
Law and Order, The Good Wife and even Blue Peter.
When asked how she balances deadlines for the books
with all her other work, she answers, “lots of Red Bull!”
Heather Breckel
Heather lends her talents for lush comic book colors to
IDW’s My Little Pony series, making the land of Equestria
(and beyond) come alive. She is also a freelance colorist,
known for her work on Peter Panzerfaust and Number
13. She adores her cats and loves writing and drawing
her own comics.
Whether you’ve been a fan from the beginning, you’re new to the family, or
you just came to get your friends to shut up about you going already, we’re
delighted you’re here. BronyCon is committed to sending you home with
some new friends, a story or three, and more crab hats than you could ever
handle. So come in, make yourself at home, and share in all the joy and
friendship that we’re famous for!
It is with the greatest honor and the biggest smile that I welcome you to
BronyCon 2013!
Nick Opels
Convention Chair, BronyCon 2013

Michelle Creber
Though she is the voice actor for Apple Bloom and the
singing voice of Sweetie Belle, Michelle Creber’s credits
include live-action TV parts, theatre roles, and her own
YouTube channel featuring a variety show called Speedy
& Stretch. She is also a songwriter who released her
debut album in 2012. As if that weren’t enough, Michelle
also loves a variety of sports, games, art, cooking, photography, family time and her two dogs, Max & Marley!
Brenda Crichlow
If Zecora’s not your favorite zebra, we’d like to hear your
story, as Brenda Crichlow comes to us with 24 years
of acting glory. She’s played roles in Eureka, Smallville,
Twilight Zone, and many more, and her film career is
just as broad, notably including Fantastic Four. She
owns and teaches at Crichlow Actors’ Studio, a school
that’s known for its success, and we hope that you’ll
help us welcome her as our distinguished guest!

Katie Cook
Andy Price
Katie Cook is a comic book artist and illustrator. She
enjoys cats. Besides writing the My Little Pony comic,
she’s worked on comic versions of Star Wars, Lord of
the Rings, and Fraggle Rock, and draws an excellent
weekly webcomic called Gronk. Cartooning is all she’s
ever wanted to do with her life (besides her ambition to
be a muppet or a robot as a child).
As the artist for the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
comic, Andy Price uses his unique style to portray the
denizens of Equestria. Using his skills and expertise in
old-school illustration, Andy has done art for Marvel,
DC, and Disney. Price prefers to draw and ink by hand,
rather than using digital methods, and his style helps
our favorite pastel ponies pop right off the page.
M. A. Larson
Amy Keating Rogers
We believe in M. A. Larson! The most prolific writer for
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, M. A. has stacked up
12 episodes across all three seasons, including “Sonic
Rainboom”, “The Cutie Mark Chronicles”, “The Return of
Harmony”, “Magic Duel”, and of course “Magical Mystery
Cure”. In addition to his work on My Little Pony, Larson
has written for series such as Gravity Falls, Littlest Pet
Shop and My Gym Partner’s a Monkey.
BronyCon welcomes back the writer behind many of
our favorite episodes, including “MMMystery on the
Friendship Express” and “The Last Roundup”. Amy is
the head writer for Care Bears, as she was for Powerpuff Girls, and has also written for Dexter’s Laboratory
and Foster’s Home for Imagnary Friends, earning her
4 Primetime Emmy nominations. She has also written
plays, books, live-action film scripts, and comic books.
Nicole Oliver
Lee Tockar
Nicole Oliver graces BronyCon for the third time in a
row this year. When she is not portraying Princess Celestia and Cherilee, Nicole keeps herself busy with a diverse set of roles behind the microphone and in front of
the camera, including producing, directing, and hosting
the show Crash Test Mommy. She balances her weighty
CV with a busy home life and a few Leo nominations for
good measure.
The voice of Steven Magnet and Snips, Lee has lent his
voice to over 100 well-loved characters on the big and
small screens. In addition to his voice work, Lee is writing a new children’s book, and is the founder of Fanbuilt
Productions, the world’s first virtual animation studio:
an online forum and theater where animators, writers,
musicians, and artists can create, collaborate, and complete animated projects to share with the world.
Maddy Peters
Cathy Weseluck
The voice behind Scootaloo, Maddy has been performing since the age of 6. She originally began in musical
theatre as a singer, dancer and stage actress, but has
since expanded into voice acting. Before working on My
Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Martha Speaks, she
could be heard on Nickelodeon’s Yakkity Yak and Studio
B’s Being Ian and Kid vs. Kat.
Well-known for both western and anime roles, the
woman behind Spike and Mayor Mare (and G3.5 Rarity!)
joins BronyCon for her second year. Besides ponies,
Cathy has done voicework for such popular titles as
Dragonball Z, Ranma ½, Inuyasha, and Death Note.
She has also voiced characters in The Littlest Pet Shop,
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and ReBoot. It is
rumored that she also plays a mean game of ping-pong.
6 Rules & Costumes
In order to make sure that everyone has the very best BronyCon they possibly
can, we have a few rules to help keep you safe. If you have any questions, stop
by one of our info booths or grab a staff member and ask. We’re all here to make
sure you have a fantastic weekend!
◑◑ Help keep BronyCon a family-friendly convention. BronyCon welcomes
fans of all ages and we want to make this a fun weekend for everyone. If you
wouldn’t see it on the show, please don’t bring it into the convention.
◑◑ Respect your fellow congoers. Do not engage in any behavior that may
threaten, harass, or harm others. Ask permission first each time before taking
pictures or touching other attendees, and respect that person’s right to say no.
If you are being harassed, threatened, or harmed (or see it happening to someone else) please report it to our security staff as soon as you can.
◑◑ What’s illegal outside the convention is illegal inside the convention. Please
don’t steal, fight, use illegal drugs, or do anything else that’s illegal in Baltimore,
Maryland, or the United States in general.
◑◑ Follow convention center policies. Please don’t smoke inside or near the
doors of convention space, sleep in public areas, or drink alcohol in the BCC.
◑◑ Obey all directions given to you by staff members. If you have a problem with
a staff member, follow their directions first, then ask to see their supervisor.
◑◑ This is a public event, and you are in the public eye. Your likeness may be
used in crowd shots, and members of the press may ask you for pictures or
interviews, which you have the right to refuse. BronyCon issues press badges
to credentialed press outlets, and you can always ask to see someone’s press
badge if you aren’t sure.
In addition, make sure all your props and costumes follow these rules:
◑◑ Attendee attire must cover all areas normally covered by a swimsuit. Costumes
and props must be PG-rated, and hate speech is not allowed in any form.
◑◑ Costumes and props must be constructed and held such that they are not
dangerous to anyone who bumps into them accidentally.
◑◑ Costumes and props that make noise must have volume controls and should
be kept at an appropriate volume. The owners of such props must turn the
noise down or off if asked to by a staff member.
◑◑ Props made of live steel — anything crafted of metal with a pointed or bladelike edge, blunt or sharp — are not allowed in the convention space at all.
◑◑ Real weapons, such as maces or axes, must be disabled or peacebound. Bows
must be unstrung or strung with a flimsy string. No projectiles are allowed.
◑◑ Gun-like props are required to have orange tips, and they must be unloaded
and disabled. You may not carry any ammunition on your person.
◑◑ Real firearms are not allowed in the convention space at all, even if disabled or
unloaded. If you are an off-duty law-enforcement officer carrying your firearm
through convention space, please check in with the Head of Security when
you enter convention space so there are no unfortunate misunderstandings.
◑◑ Any prop being used in a threatening or unsafe manner is not allowed.
◑◑ Security may ask you to put your prop away or change your costume at any
time based on its acceptability. The Head of Security has the final say on the
acceptability of any costume or prop.

8 Charity

This year, we have partnered with Bronies for Good to increase the reach and
range of our charity efforts. Bronies for Good is an international organization that
is committed to fostering the growth of a global community of caring, socially
conscious individuals through the organization of service events worldwide and
encouraging individual, group and social involvement.
Charity Auction
Bid on one-of-a-kind items made by fellow bronies, while knowing that your
purchases are doing good in the world. As an extension of the Bronies For
Good Seeds of Kindness 3 project, 80 percent of funds raised this year will
benefit CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. Item donations for the auction are
being accepted at the Brones for Good booth, numbered 102 in the Vendor
Hall. Information about CureSearch for Children’s Cancer can be found at their
website, curesearch.org.
Food Drive
Make a difference in BronyCon’s own community by donating food to the
Maryland Food Bank. Proteins, cereals, and especially breakfast items are
preferred, as they are more nutritious than canned goods. Fresh fruits and
vegetables are also greatly appreciated, but please bring them late on Saturday or
all day Sunday to ensure that they stay fresh. Food donations are being accepted
all weekend at the Bronies for Good booth, in the Vendor Hall at number 102.
Information on the Maryland Food Bank can be found at mdfoodbank.org.
Montetary Donations
In addition to these projects, Bronies for Good will be accepting monetary
donations for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer via cash or credit at their booth.
So even if you’re enjoying yourself too much to make a grocery run, you can still
make a difference.
For more information on Bronies for Good and their projects, visit them online at
broniesforgood.org or follow their twitter @BroniesForGood.
BronyPalooza is back this year and bigger than ever!
2 nights. 12 hours. 34 performers.
8 p.m. each night is when Mane Event hands the reins over to Hoof Beatz and
the biggest brony concert in the world gets started. Whether you’re into rock
or rap, acoustic or electronic, or even frickin’ laser beams, get ready to raise
your hooves up high, shake that flank, and end your day at BronyCon right!
