Wondang Horse Racing Academy : It is a jockey training institution, established by the Korean
Horse Affairs Association and has facilities such as stables, equestrian training tracks, horse ranches, and
an equine hospital. Green fields, white fences and fresh air make very beautiful scenery and therefore
shooting of many Korean Soap operas and commercial films have taken places here.

Baedari Brewery Museum : This museum is run by four generations of a brewer family in Goyang
City. There are exhibition halls where you can see the history of Korean brewery and you may also find a wax
figure of former president Park Jeong Hee. Making of Korean traditional rice wine and tasting is also possible.
Just one glance of sunrise and the night view from Haengju fortress, is enough to capture your heart.
If you are looking for an escape from the noise and the crowd, if you want to have a moment
of tranquility, this course is perfect for you!
Haengju Fortress : This historical place is where 2,300 civilians and soldiers, led by Commander in chief
Kwon Yul, fought against 30,000 Japanese army and gained a great victory during the Japanese invasion in
1593. In the battle, women made their contribution by carrying stones in their skirts. "Haengju chima", meaning
“Apron”, was named after this place after the battle. Haengju fortress is a wall made of mud, built in the ancient
period of the Three Kingdoms. At the top, you will be able to admire the stunning view of the Han River and
Jayuro. The site is especially known for its beautiful night scenery and is open to public on Saturday nights in July
through September and it is also popular among photographers from all over the country. Three paintings of the
Great Victory and 30 weapons from the battle are exhibited in the Haengju Memorial Hall.

Restaurants Nearby : The eel village located on the way to Haengju Fortress is famous for its grilled
eel dishes, known to give vitality and strength. You also have the chance to taste other local dishes such
as sliced raw trout, spicy seafood stew, and spicy freshwater fish stew. Sitting under the pine tree with
its fresh scent whilst having eel BBQ and other local food to nourish you, you will feel a step closer to
heaven. The eel village is the place to go if you want to satisfy your senses!
Jeongbalsan : Take a stroll up to Pyeongsimroo (Korean pavilion) on top of Jeongbalsan (Mt.
Jeongbal) starting from Jeongbalsan station (Subway Line No. 3) or Ilsan Dong-gu Office bus
stop. There, you can enjoy a cool breeze whilst looking at the panorama view of Ilsan. At the top
of Pyeongsimroo, you can also regain your breath or train yourself at the public exercising area.

Suyeogi near Seosamneung is a place where you can find many good restaurants that serve delicious
Korean local cuisines such as Sanchae Bibimbap (barley rice with wild vegetables), Jukkumi Bokkeum

Bamgasi Choga (Thatched House) : When you go 200 meters down to the left of Madu
Library from Jeongbalsan, you will be greeted by Ilsan Bamgasi thatched house, a Folk Museum of
Goyang city. Bamgasi Choga is a 150 year-old-traditional thatched house where ordinary people
once lived. The town was named Bamgasi because of its large number of chestnut trees (Bam
means chestnuts in Korean). This old thatched house is a historical inheritance and is a valuable
asset to Goyang city as it has survived the whole development process of Ilsan New Town.

Goyang Haengju Culture Festival
It is held every April ~ May at Haengjusanseong in order to celebrate the victory of the great war Haengju,
one of the three fiercest battles against Japan during Imjin War (1592~1598). You can enjoy various traditional
shows like military band, traditional marching band and Kungdo (Korean Archery) competitions.
Goyang Lake Park Arts Festival
