Liftup
In cooperation with Liftup 3PART has designed Raizer, a mechanical mobile
lift chair that can help a person laying up to almost standing position in a
few minutes. Raizer is designed so that it can be operated by only one helper
without physical effort from this besides a supportive hand. In the design of
Raizer there has been great focus on function, safety and usability.
The lift chair is used in home care, nursing homes, emergency crews and by
other personnel who work with lifting and transfer of persons with reduced
mobility.

Task: The Danish innovation company Liftup, developing
welfare technological aids, came to 3PART with the desire
to have designed and developed a mobile lift chair for use in

homes, elderly and health centers and professional rescuers
such as Falck.
Process: Before the actual design work there was on
workshops defined basic specifications for the design and
materials, and conducted research among users of the lift
chair.
Subsequently, 3PART developed a design catalog with seven
different proposals for both visual design and technical
construction. From these, the preferred design direction was
chosen for further processing and detail.
Solution: In the design and construction of Raizer there has
been laid great emphasis on both usability and functionality.
Raizer is designed so that it can raise a fallen person
while both the patient and the caregiver can feel safe in
the process - and without risk of injury. The mobile tool
is assembled quickly and is no bigger than it can be easily
transported in two bags.
The lift chair can eg. be used in home care, nursing homes,
emergency services and other staff who work with lifting
and transfer of persons with reduced mobility.
