I NTRODUCTION Radrick Farms Golf Course was the gift Radrick Farms Team of Frederick C. Sanhita Hoskeri Admin. Specialist Matthaei, Sr., loyal Clint Kutzley Greenskeeper Dan Mausolf Superintendent alumnus and Regent Jon Moll Clubhouse Manager of the University. It Paul Scott General Manager is named in honor of Ghansha St. Aimee Greenskeeper his sons, Konrad and Katherine Stewart Greenskeeper Frederick. In 1965, Corbin Todd Dir. of UM Golf Courses Mr. Matthaei donated Matt Weiland Greenskeeper the property and Lincoln White Mechanic funds for the construction of the course at the suggestion of President Harlan Hatcher. Owned and operated by the University of Michigan, Radrick Farms Golf Course is a championship eighteen-hole course designed by world -renowned golf course architect Pete Dye. The 275-acre rolling layout is located just east of U of M campus (see map on back cover). PLAYING ELIGIBILITY Radrick Farms Golf Course is operated primarily for the benefit of the University of Michigan faculty and staff. Faculty, staff, and select donors may play the course on a daily greens fee basis. Contributions are accepted in the golf shop by cash or check only payable to the University of Michigan. Pays greens fees for every round. Tee times can be made five days in advance. May bring up to three guests at a time. Not eligible to participate in the lottery reservation system. PRESIDENTIAL SOCIETY Eligibility is determined by the Development Office. Required to pay full greens fees. Same privileges and restrictions as Matthaei Club Affiliates. YOUTH (under the age of 16) & YOUNG ADULT (16-21) Must be accompanied by an adult eligible golfer that takes responsibility for the safety and actions of the youth while on the golf course. Youth may not play before 11:00 a.m. on weekends or holidays unless the youth can meet eligibility requirements (see golf shop team). Children of season pass holders (up to age 22) are eligible to purchase a youth Season Pass for $250 (includes Range Pass). Cart use restrictions (see p.7). WALK-ONS All eligible golfers without reservations may attempt to play on a first-come, first-served basis. Check with the starter for availability; there is never a guarantee. Per golf etiquette standards, the starter may fill any tee time. 5 REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS 20 minutes prior to tee time: all golfers must register in the golf shop prior to their starting time. 15 minutes prior to tee time: golfers must present receipt for greens fees to the starter. It is the golfer’s responsibility to let the starter know they have arrived. 5 minutes prior to tee time: golfers must arrive at the tee, ready to play. The starter is not responsible for calling you to the tee. CANCELLATIONS & NO –SHOW PENALTY Tee reservations should be cancelled with as much notice as possible. Early cancellation is a basic golfer courtesy. A no-show designation subjects the individual who made the tee time to $25 per player fee. A tee time reservation that is changed by two or more golfers is considered a cancellation. A cancellation to a morning tee time that is not made by 6:00 p.m. the evening prior is considered a no-show. A cancellation to a tee time after noon, that is not made by 9:00 a.m. the day of the reservation, is considered a no-show. P OLICIES TEAM & GOLFER COURTESY Radrick Farms is a family environment. We are committed to increasing accessibility. Our golfers, Team members, and guests must behave in a friendly manner in order to encourage an enjoyable golf experience . Instances of aggressive behavior, or violation of policies may result in suspension of playing privileges. All golfers must adhere to the policies of Radrick Farms. It is the eligible golfer’s duty to inform their guests of all policies. 6 GOLF ATTIRE / DRESS CODE No metal spikes permitted. Appropriate golfing attire is required. GOLF ETIQUETTE Good golf course etiquette results in faster rounds, better course conditions, and greater enjoyment of the game. Use “FORE” as a warning to other players. GOLF CART RESTRICTIONS Users of golf carts are responsible for all negligent damage to persons, carts, and all other property. Season Pass Holders assume personal use liability upon purchase of a Season Pass. Daily fee golfers must sign a liability waiver. Golfers must be eighteen years old to rent and operate. Only two riders and two golf bags are permitted per cart. Keep carts at least 30 feet away from greens and tees. Persons with disabilities may use the “90 degree rule” on the 13th hole as well as park carts within 10 feet of the greens. Please operate carts on paths and obey all directional signs. Do not operate golf carts between bunkers and greens. Keys must be returned to the golf shop upon completion of the round ($5.00 fee for lost key). All carts are due at the Clubhouse after sunset / before dark. 7 POLICIES — CONTINUED BUNKERS Always rake the bunkers and never walk up the bunker faces Leave rakes in the bunkers, parallel with the ball’s line-offlight from the tee to the pin. Index Men 0-4 Men 5-12 Men 13– 18 Men 19-22 Women 0-6 Women 7-21 Any golfer (22 & up) Tee Maize Blue Silver White Silver White Black FACILITIES ACCESSIBILITY FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES The Team at Radrick Farms is committed to making all facilities accessible. Please ask any Team Member to assist in any manner necessary. Parking for persons with disabilities is available behind the cart barn. The Clubhouse Team is always willing to provide golf cart shuttle service. DRIVING RANGE / RANGE PASS MEMBERSHIP FREE TO USE for all Season Pass Holders (includes practice balls and access to short game area). Located to the North of the Clubhouse and features the area’s largest bentgrass tee boxes. Daily fee players may purchase a “warm-up bucket” in the golf shop (see p.4) with purchase of Greens Fees Range Passes may be purchased by eligible daily fee golfers for the entire 2015 golf season for $300: this includes unlimited access and unlimited range balls. The range will be closed periodically for maintenance and events. 9 FACILITIES — CONTINUED PRACTICE GREENS Radrick Farms has two large putting greens located on either side of the clubhouse. Please refrain from chipping practice at the green located behind the 10th hole tee box. SHORT GAME AREA The “Short-Game Practice Facility” is located beyond the end of the driving range, between the 10th and 14th fairway. Access this area by taking the path behind the driving range tee box. RENTAL CLUBS Driver’s license or major credit card are held as collateral. Fee rates vary based on quality of sets. Please call the golf shop in advance to reserve sets. HANDICAP COMPUTER Season Pass Holders can get a free membership with the Golf Association of Michigan: www.gam.org This membership includes the USGA Handicap Service. All other eligible golfers may sign-up for this membership in the golf shop for a fee. Golfers are required to maintain an accurate handicap by posting scores in order to compete in most events. 10 SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE Radrick Farms is a high demand course. The following efforts are undertaken to ensure the most enjoyable golf experience possible: Most daily tasks are completed before golfers reach the hole. The first group of golfers may not play at a pace faster than one hour and forty-five minutes. For safety and regulatory reasons, the course will be periodically closed for additional maintenance tasks. See the calendar of events on our website. Radrick Farms strives to be a great environmental steward in every way possible; please read our Environmental Stewardship Guide on our website. CALENDAR OF EVENTS Visit our website to view a calendar of events. The schedule is subject to change due to the weather, course conditions, and demand. Group outings are restricted to non-peak golfing times. Contact the Clubhouse Manager for more information. 11 INCLEMENT WEATHER We are committed to providing the safest and best playing conditions possible. There will be occasions when the course will be unexpectedly closed due to the weather. Please be patient and considerate during these times. Whenever the course opens after a delay, tee times will be allocated at the Starter’s discretion. Frost Delays During frost delays, golfers must stay off ALL grass areas including the putting greens and driving range. RAIN CHECKS: Issued when the course is suddenly closed or golfers are unable to complete their round due to unforeseen circumstances. Rain checks will be valid within one year of issued date. Fog Delays To ensure the safety of our golfers and team members, all play will be delayed until conditions are safe. Rain The course may close if significant rainfall renders the golf course susceptible to damage. Golf carts may be restricted depending upon the conditions. Lightning Safety If the course sirens sound, seek shelter immediately. Play Suspended: Intermittent Hi-Low Tones Okay to Resume Play: Continuous, Solid Tone Use your best judgment: seek shelter at the first sign of a thunderstorm. Go indoors or go to a designated lightning shelter. Do not stand under a lone tree.
