(ET) Customer Support by e-mail at [email protected] NSLDS New Functionality NL#27 • Slides describe new school report functionality • Information on borrowers with delinquent loans available on the NSLDS Professional Access Web site NSLDS New Functionality • New functionality provides delinquency information reported to NSLDS by: • Federal loan servicers— – FedLoan Servicing (PHEAA), – Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc. – Nelnet – Sallie Mae. • Consolidates information for borrowers with loans reported as delinquent in payments to one of the four federal loan servicers NSLDS New Functionality • Loan information provided: – Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL). Loans purchased by Department of Education. (referred to as FFEL Purchased Loans) • William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) serviced by these servicers. NSLDS New Functionality • Functionality does not include borrowers‘ delinquent loans held by guaranty agencies or serviced by the Direct Loan Servicing Center. – Delinquent loans serviced by the Direct Loan Servicing Center is available on the Direct Loan Servicing Online School Site. https://schools.dl.ed.gov/schools/school/index.do – Data on delinquent loans serviced by the Direct Loan Servicing Center will also be included in a future enhancement to the NSLDS Professional Access Web site. NSLDS New Functionality • Schools with branch campuses may request data to incorporate all branches with the main campus. • Data for all delinquent borrowers can be reported at the main branch level of the six-digit school code or – a branch location by including the last two digits of the eight-digit OPEID. NSLDS New Functionality • Delinquent Borrowers page has been added to the NSLDS Professional Access Web site – Allows school users to request and view online a comprehensive list of borrowers with delinquent loans for their school. • School user accesses the Delinquent Borrowers Web link under the ―Aid‖ Tab Delinquent Borrower Link user enters the required parameters and filter criteria in order to tailor the resulting delinquent borrowers list list may be filtered by Branch Code Federal Loan Servicer Cohort Year Delinquency Period(s). Delinquent Borrower * Is the default for ―all‖ For a specific branch enter last 2 digits of OPEID Delinquent Borrower Select ―Org Search button if you don‘t know servicer‘s code Federal Loan Servicing Screen Selecting blue button will auto fill the code Retrieving Data Once parameters identified, click ―Retrieve‖ List of borrowers & all delinquent loans that fall within period selected Loan History Page Delinquent Borrower Report Report delivered via SAIG Click on Blue button to build report Various report formats available Delinquent Borrower Report File is delivered through the SAIG to TG mailbox of user that submitted request. Under ‗Extract Type‘ user must provide the desired Extract Type, either commadelimited or standard (fixedlength). Delinquent Borrower Report Extract or formatted report files include loan date and current monthly payment amount. Scheduled Reporting NL #28 • Allows users to create scheduled reporting profiles for the automatic distribution – Exit Counseling Completion Results – Delinquent Borrower reports. • Scheduled Reporting section added to the School Profile – Section displays reporting profile (pre-filled for current DLSS reports) – Allows authorized school user to update the frequency, destination SAIG mailbox, report type, and other reportspecific parameters. Scheduled Reporting School Profile Button Below School Profile and Program Status sections is the new Scheduled Reporting • School user will see only profile associated with their organization • Both reports available for this functionality • Exit Counseling Completion and Delinquent Borrower in separate boxes. Scheduled Reporting If report profile is needed, the Update Button for each report profile will take the user to the Profile Update Scheduled Reporting-Profile Update-Exit Counseling Confirm window may appear Customizing Reporting Type For Comma Delimited and Fixed Width Reporting Types users must indicate an Extract Format, either NSLDS or Direct Loan. Frequency includes: Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly School branches Scheduled Reporting-Profile Update -Delinquent Borrower • Reporting Type • Frequency • School Branch Scheduled Reporting • Updated scheduled reporting parameters will now display on the School Profile page for the school to view. • To cancel the receipt of scheduled reports, select the Update button on School Profile page • Select Cancel as the Frequency to stop automatic delivery of the report SCHOOL PORTFOLIO REPORT NL#29 • School Portfolio Report is available to schools and is delivered via the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). • Provides school users with information about all Direct Loan and/or FFEL program loans. • Report includes loans serviced by all servicers, including the Department of Education's federal loan servicers, and provides identifying information about the servicer for each loan. SCHOOL PORTFOLIO REPORT User may select parameters that include: • Repayment begin and end date range • Loan status, and loan program type. Reminders • Beginning December 26, 2010, passwords for the NSLDS Professional Access Web site will require the inclusion of one of three special characters (@, #, or $) and a number. • Change was made to comply with Federal Student Aid‘s password policy. • All users must complete the annual training and online Security Acknowledgment requirement. • Users will receive a reminder of this annual responsibility 10 days before the prior year‘s training expires. • Remember to keep your NSLDS Professional Access Web site ORG contacts current and list a Primary Contact for your organization. Enhancements to School Cohort Default Rate Link NL #30 • Allow users to view their own institution‘s three-year draft and official CDRs • Request the LRDR to support the rate. • User will be able to view the three-year official CDR for other institutions, lender servicers and the federal loan servicers Enhancements to School Cohort Default History Report Under Report Tab Two-year and threeyear rates, and the three-year trial rates with the modified Rate Type descriptions School Repayment Information Page Found under ORG tab Includes addition of the 36month monitoring period for the Numerator Date Range Supporting report can be requested separately via the Request Buttons for a 24month or 36-month Loan Record Detail Report for the latest month. New Debt Management and Collections System on NSLDS NL #31 • On February 2011, ED implemented the code 556 to ID defaulted loans in NSLDS that are held by the new system. • Limited number of new defaulted Federal Direct Loan loans are being added to the new system. • These new debts will be assigned code 556 to NSLDS. • Code 555 identifies defaulted loans held by the existing debt management and collections system • Eventually all debts associated with code 555 will be moved to new system and be reflected under code 556. Debt Management and Collections System Loans held by the new system display the ED Servicer name and code on the Loan History page under the Aid tab Loan Detail Page Displays the ED Servicer name and code under Guaranty Agency / Lender / Servicer Agent History section. Contact information associated with this code displays on the Org Contact List: 3 New Fields for Overpayments New fields– • Indicator Date • Outstanding Principal Balance • Outstanding Interest Balance • Overpayment pages under the Aid tab Overpayment Pages include IraqAfghanistan Service Grant On Overpayment List page example shows how the overpayment will display ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center NL #32 • ED uses new code 583 for loans associated with the Direct Loan Servicing Center (ACS) • March 20, 2011 ED implemented the new code to identify loans previously reported with the Direct Loan Servicing Center (ACS) code of 00100. – We have converted loan data in the NSLDS database to the new code 583 – loans will continue to be identified with code 00100 on Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) for the 2010-2011 and 20112012 award years ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center NL #32 • Loans serviced by the Direct Loan Servicing Center (ACS) will soon be reported to NSLDS using the new 583 code • Monitor the IFAP Web site for forthcoming announcements regarding this process. ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center NL #32 Loans serviced by (ACS) are identified by the ED Servicer name and new code on the Loan History page under the Aid tab Loan Detail page displays the ED Servicer name and code under the Guaranty Agency / Lender / Servicer Agent History section. ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center • (ACS) is now identified under the ED Servicer type • Updates have been made throughout to remove the former FDLP Servicer type. • Searching for an organization under the Org tab displays the valid types and no longer displays the FDLP Servicer ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center • Contact information associated with this code displays on the Org Contact List. • Org Type is ED Servicer with the code 583: ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center Loan submission details with this code display on the Data Provider Schedule page under ORG TAB ACS Direct Loan Servicing Center • Under the ENROLL TABEnrollment Reporting Schedule page displays ACS • Financial Aid Review Page automatically updated QUESTIONS ?
