MOM hi
The MOM Team has put together their favorite road trip destinations.
1-50 miles
Einstein the Beaver – close to home
Betsey from Monkey Dooz recommends checking
out Einstein the Beaver. He can be found at the
base of Rachel Road in Richland/Kennewick right
off of Leslie. The park/trail is accessed out of the
Meadow Springs Development. For more
information, visit the Tapteal Greenway Association
website: www.tapteal.org/pages/newsarchive.html
(access the August 15 post).

50-100 miles
Palouse Falls State Park –
Washtucna, WA: 77 miles
KVEW Anchor Kristi Paulus’ favorite
road trip in Washington State is Palouse
Falls. “To be driving in stark, flat
landscape then suddenly see this
gaping hole in the earth filled with
raging water—that seemingly comes
from nowhere - is incredible!”

Don’t settle for less...Come to Meyers Auto Tech

100-150 miles
150-200 miles
Burnt River Ranch – Durkee, OR: 186 miles
Raeann (MOM Publisher) and her family are saddling up and
riding the range at this working cattle ranch. They’ll be
sleeping in a cabin, watching the stars and living in the wild
west—if only for one week. www.burntriverranch.com
Leavenworth – Leavenworth, WA: 149 mi
Jane from Secretprintsource loves Leaven worth. Her family
spent 4 days there and had loads of fun in the Hat Shop, walking
all over town and floating down the (aptly named) Icicle River.
200+ miles
Seattle, WA: 221 miles
MOM Reader Lynn loves heading to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Paying a little extra allows you to do things like feed
the giraffes. Her son JT knows where everything is and knows all the animals by name.
Other Seattle area favorites include baseball—catch a Mariners game, or see the Tacoma Rainiers for a less expensive
experience. The Cheney Stadium was remodeled last year and is quite nice.
If you are looking for something different, Tukiwila has a really cool go-kart course. www.k1speed.com
