elektronisk og det er et stort
fremskritt
Open Access innebærer at fagfellevurderte vitenskapelige publikasjoner
gjøres fritt tilgjengelig på internett eller i åpne arkiver.
Forfatter beholder opphavsretten til publikasjonen, men gir brukeren
tillatelse til å lese, laste ned, kopiere, distribuere, skrive ut, søke i
eller lenkte til fullteksten uten å forlange vederlag
Tilgangen er ikke regulert av abonnementsordninger. Utgifter til
Open Access må ofte dekkes av forfatter eller institusjon.
Det skilles mellom to typer Open Access:
Grønn Open Access er fagfellevurderte vitenskapelige artikler som
legges i åpne arkiver, institusjonelle eller fagspesifikke. UiO gjør dette
ved å laste fulltekstdokumentet i Cristin som importerer til DUO.
Golden Open Access er fagfellevurderte Open Acces tidsskrifter
som er fullt tilgjengelig for alle.

OMICS Publishing Group is a predatory publisher of open access journals in a
number of academic fields. It is part of the OMICS Group, based in Hyderabad,
India.[1][2] It issued its first publication in 2008.[3] According to a 2012 article in
The Chronicle about 60 percent of the group's 200 journals have never actually
published anything.[4]
Academics and the United States government have questioned the validity of
peer review by OMICS journals, the appropriateness of author fees and
marketing, and the apparent advertising of the names of scientists as journal
editors or conference speakers without their knowledge or
permission.[5][6][2][7][8] As a result, the U.S. National Institutes of Health does
not accept OMICS publications for listing in PubMed Central and sent a ceaseand-desist letter to OMICS in 2013, demanding that OMICS discontinue false
claims of affiliation with U.S. government entities or employees.[7] OMICS has
responded to criticisms by avowing a commitment to open access publishing and
threatening a prominent critic with a US$1 billion lawsuit.[4]

by det finnes røvere.

Hvordan unngår man å bli lurt av røvere
•Sjekk at tidsskriftet har komplett adresse (ikke bare en
web-adresse).
•Sjekk om redaktørene er kjent innen fagmiljøet
•Sjekk at kostnadene for publisering er entydig beskrevet
•Vær mistenksom ved e-mail invitasjoner
•Gå gjennom noen artikler som er publisert
•Sjekk at peer-review rutinene er godt beskrevet
•Sjekk om oppgitt impact factor er korrekt
•Sjekk om tidsskriftet er del av en forlagsgruppe
•Sjekk Bealls liste
•Ikke bli bare lykkelig hvis rask aksept uten kommentarer
•Ikke vær godtroende
