Niigata & Scana launch Propulsion Package

Scana Volda AS and Niigata Power
Systems Co., Ltd., of Japan, has agreed to
offer a Niigata & Scana Propulsion
Package.
The cooperative business agreement was signed during
SMM 2014 in Hamburg in September. Niigata and Scana
have prepared the sales and marketing of the package by
the creation of a project guide with typical configurations
for offshore support vessels. The Niigata & Scana Propulsion Package is based on the new Niigata 28AHX engine series
(2070 – 6660 kW), combined with the wide range of Scana Propulsion propellers, gearboxes, tunnel thrusters and
control systems. The complete propulsion package are available from the global sales organizations of both Niigata and
Scana Propulsion.
“We see a great potential for the Niigata & Scana Propulsion Package in the offshore segment, and we have already
experienced positive interest from this segment in Asia”, says Hallvard Pettersen, Managing Director of Scana Volda. The
propulsion package is well founded in the extensive experience of Niigata and Scana in their respective products and
markets.
