Joe Hodge, the OSS in
Vancouver, WA agrees that
selling Altrom is all about
increasing sales. A couple of
weeks ago, he and his Altrom
District Sales Manager made
several cold calls to import
shops. One of those specialty
shops visited, Zinda & Sons, has
already generated more sales in
oil, emissions, gaskets, and
brakes in the time since they
were called on than
they did all of 2010!
Even more recently, Joe
started a dialog with
the owner of a new
import shop opening in
his town. Currently a
customer of another WD
supplier, this owner is interested
in the NAPA Import Auto Parts
program and likes the fact that
he can get his quality domestic
parts from the same NAPA
supplier. Joe is thrilled with his
win-win experiences when
sharing the Altrom program
with his customers.

Recently, Kevin Smith, Store
Manager from ASC of Stuart, FL
had a customer come into his
store looking for antifreeze for
his Audi A6. With so many
choices available, Kevin wanted
to make sure he was offering
the right fluid for his customer.
He immediately thought of the

Ahead of the Competition
In mid-2010 the Fresno DC,
lead by GM Doug Carlson,
arranged a plant tour of Altrom
Seattle for a group of Fresno DC
serviced jobbers. The tour was
successful, culminating in
multiple additional stocking
jobbers. Doug was so pleased
with Altrom’s comprehensive
approach to addressing the
opportunities that NAPA’s
Import program provided for
today’s changing market
demands, that he arranged for
a number of local district and
DC employees to attend
another tour in January 2011.
Among the attendees were
store managers who returned
from the experience with a new
vision and appreciation for
Altrom and what part it would
play in their sales successes for
2011.
Next, Altrom and Lubro Moly
created a sales and training blitz
for the Fresno District stores in
March. Not only were the
training sessions well attended
by the district personnel, but by
invitation, some local
independent jobbers also
attended the after hours
sessions.
Another great success achieved
as a result of the blitz is one of
the major accounts in the area,
Kurata Automotive Service,
agreed to support the NAPA
Import Auto Parts program,
giving NAPA first call. This is a
great example where training,
product knowledge, follow-up
and installer calls put Altrom
ahead of the competition.
$35K Inventory Creates
$127K Sales Out
Darryl Robertson, Owner of the
Bellingham, WA NAPA has had
an Altrom inventory for a few
years now. He continues to
upgrade and build the business.
The counterpeople are
enthusiastic about the NAPA
Import Auto Parts program and
realize the more they put in- the
more they sell! All of the
employees have been through
the Import Expert Training and
are taking advantage of the
online catalog.
Bellingham NAPA currently
stocks $35K of Altrom. The
SALES OUT in 2010 was
$127K! Darryl is looking
forward to keeping this
momentum with continued
upgrade orders in 2011.
Way to Save the Sale
While completing the Import
Expert training at the Red Hook,
NY store, a counterman, Rick
recalled how just the day
before, he had quoted a
customer control arms and ball
joints for the front end of a VW
Passat. When priced separately,
all 10 parts came to about
$1000, excluding hardware.
After going back into TAMS,

Building Business with OE
Dealerships
Recently, the Ann Arbor, MI
NAPA store completed the
Altrom Import Expert training.
The store owner, Hank Bejian
went through the training
process with all three of his
countermen who are also OSS.
After training, the store team
and their Altrom Sales Manager
went out and made dealer calls,
visiting existing customers as
well as cold calling local import
dealerships that had not

previously been targeted. On
one successful visit, they were
able to share some of the NAPA
Import Auto Parts program with
the parts manager in the BMW
dealership.Two weeks later the
BMW dealership had already
made multiple purchases,
surprisingly from varied NAPA
lines—not just Altrom. It turns
out that the BMW dealership
was looking for a source for
parts to repair and recondition
their trade-ins and is reaching
out to NAPA now more than
ever.
Two Months later..
The relationship between the
BMW dealership and the Ann
Arbor, MI NAPA continues to
grow and has created
thousands of dollars worth of
new business for the store.
Hank is thrilled with his Altrom
line, and is impressed with how
his total NAPA program has
become even stronger.
Relationships That Succeed
Travis Busick, owner of Busick’s
Automotive a NAPA AutoCare
dealer, uses NAPA Import Auto
Parts first on all Asian and
European vehicles. Not only
does Travis like the availability
of import parts at his servicing
store, but the pricing for
original equipment parts has no
equal around his town,
Valdosta, GA. Travis exclaimed
that the customer service from
NAPA and their import supplier
is second to none, and will
continue to utilize both in his
successful business model.
Managers Notice New Sales
George Zdarsky, owner of
NAPA Lyons located outside
Chicago, engaged his
operation into the NAPA Import
Parts Program last October.
New sales began immediately
and store manager Jim Weiher
took notice. When George
opened a new store in
Countryside, IL the Altrom line
was immediately added for this
new market. Because of the
immediate sales impact at
Lyons, both George and Jim
made the easy decision to make
Altrom part of their Countryside
effort. It should be a great year
for these gentlemen in 2011
and Altrom is happy to
contribute to their success!
