the famous fossil filled Tyndall Stone used to build the
Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, the Manitoba
Legislature, and many very well known buildings

The Beausejour Skateboard Park is a great place for
skateboarders to spend some time practicing their
jumps and tricks. It is located on James Avenue near
the Beausejour Legion and the baseball diamonds.

Manitoba Glass Works was founded in Beausejour in
1906 by Joseph Keilback and his partners. The
factory was sustained by a nearby deposit of high
quality sand and it was the first glass container factory
in Western Canada. The factory site remains and was
designated Provincial Heritage Site #41 in 1989.

The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, including the communities of
Garson and Tyndall, located 40 km east of Winnipeg on PTH #44, is
named for the Brokenhead River which passes through the entire
municipality. The municipality boasts some of the richest agricultural

The Town of Beausejour is located 46 km northeast of Winnipeg on PTH
No. 44 (Historic Highway No. 1) approximately halfway between the
Whiteshell Provincial Park and Winnipeg. Beausejour is the business
hub of the northeast region and is the location of the Sunrise School
Division headquarters. Beausejour has excellent educational facilities,
both elementary and high school as well as health care facilities
including primary care, personal care and assisted living. Beausejour
has some of the best recreational facilities in the area and is home to the
Canadian Power Toboggan Championship. The provincial building
