Reasons ands solution for peripheral vein
disease
Today there are different techniques of peripheral vein disease surgery. Below we
will give you some information about causes of leg swelling and leg swelling
treatment.
Techniques used for vein disease:
•
Phlebotomy. Phlebotomy consists in the elimination of varicose veins and
spider veins by means of a small ambulatory intervention in the development of
which local anaesthesia is used. Small incisions of no more than 2 millimetres are
practiced.
•
Ablative treatment by intravenous laser, which consists of burning the vein
with the laser. It is best treatment for chronic venous insufficiency.
•
Radiofrequency. This catheter, which works with radiofrequency energy,
delivers controlled heat to the wall of the damaged vein and seals it. It is applied with
local anaesthesia and is a quick and simple treatment for leg swelling.
•
Water vapour: Consists of injecting, through a catheter, water vapour under
pressure into a micro-tube, which is heated by electric current. The water is heated and
released under pressure, carrying the steam inside the vein to the area to be treated.
The vapour condenses again in water and the resulting heat is absorbed by the wall of
the vein. This is achieved by closing the varicose vein due to the heat effect of water
vapour on the varicose vein wall. It is not invasive, although as a new technique, longterm results are unknown.
•
Traditionally, sclerotherapy has been performed through the application of
substances in liquid form, but in recent years new modalities have appeared in the
form of micro foam.
•
Clavivein: It is practiced intravenously using a device and a catheter that has a
rotor at the tip. This breaks the intima of the saphenous vein while injecting foam at
the same time. It is a very expensive technique since it is done using a single use
device. Their results in the medium and long term are not proven, since it is a very
novel technique. It is usually deal with venous insufficiency.
Side effects of leg swelling remedies
•
In very few cases can an ulcer appear which heals leaving a flat surface?
•
Another very rare possible complication is deep vein thrombosis, it can occur
when the injection is in large vessels near the junction with other vessels of greater
depth.
•
In a lesser case, people may report swelling of the ankle after the injection, it
resolves itself.
•
The pain that the treatment can produce is tolerable for the person, and there
may also be infection at the microfiltration site.
•
It may also be that the upper leg cramps healing is not very good and
generates permanent marks.
•
Remember that the treatment is based on injections and although it seems very
normal, the puncture can generate complications, such as infection in the area, allergic
reactions due to anaesthesia or the same procedure, and this is why although the risks
are very low you have to take them into account.
But these side effects of these techniques are minor. One can use any of the above
method to get rid from leg cramps.
