Application Packet for Review of Materials for Inclusion on the NOFA Land Care Approved
Materials List
Overview: Baystate Organic Certifiers is in charge of reviewing materials for inclusion on the NOFA
Organic Land Care Approved Materials List. The Approved Materials List is a list of products that are
approved for use by organic land care professionals in Connecticut and Massachusetts. All product reviews
are good for a 24 month period. Product Listings must be renewed after 24 months except for OMRI
approved products. OMRI product listings are good as long as your product remains on the OMRI Products
List.
An application for approval of your product consists of completing the application forms for Material
Review - Page 2 of this packet, completing a Material Review Ingredient List for each product to be
reviewed, completing as many Genetic Engineering, Ionizing Radiation, and Sewage Sludge Declaration as
necessary, and paying the fee for review of your products. See Fee Schedule below. Fee payments must be
submitted with your application forms. Checks must be made payable to Baystate Organic Certifiers. You
can mail, fax, or email the forms to our office.
Baystate Organic Certifiers will keep confidential any information you provide on the application forms.
The information will only be used by Baystate Organic Certifiers to determine if the material in question
qualifies for inclusion on the NOFA Organic Land Care Approved Materials List.

Material Review for Inclusion on NOFA Land Care Product List (Non Compost, Non OMRI
Approved Materials)
Base Fee for 2 years of approval - $150
(1-3 materials reviewed)
Additional product review $50 per product #4 and up
Renewal Fee $25 per product
Fill out a Land Care Material Application Form and additional documentation as noted in the application.

1. List all products that you want reviewed for and listed on the Land Care Approved Material
List. For each product, note the crop category that your product qualifies for – Crop Fertilizer
or Soil Amendment, Crop Pest, Weed, or Disease Control Product, Crop Management Tool or
Production Aid.
2. Fill out a Material Review Ingredient List for each material you want reviewed.
3. Fill out a Genetic Engineering, Ionizing Radiation, and Sewage Sludge Declaration for each
agricultural ingredient, or other qualifying ingredient (micro-organisms) in your product.
Affirmation: The undersigned declares that all information provided for this product application is
complete and accurate to the best of his or her knowledge. The company has provided ingredient
information for any and all alternate formulations marketed by the Company for the products named
above.
